how do you feel when yahtzee hates a game you lik?

I could give less a shit? I think Yahtzee is hilarious and, of course, he has his own opinion on things. Sure, I could go on for hours against somebody who disses a favorite game of mine, but usually that's because they dislike it for what I see as ridiculous personal reasons like "I don't like the graphics" or "I just think the whole (minor game point) is stupid." In example, I have a friend who disliked TF2 because of the graphics, specifically the Heavy Weapons Guy. I argue with him all the time about how its a rather stupid reason to hate a game.

But yeah, why care? Yahtzee reviews games in a comedic and straight-forward way. He plays them as a critic; in other words he plays them with a keen eye for every flaw and tells why the game could be BETTER, something which I think benefits everybody. If you made Ben 'Yahtzee' Croshaw an adviser on games and took his ideas seriously you'd probably find games had more polish and less minor annoyances.

Depends really. Sometimes I agree when he targets weakpoints I've noted as well or didn't think of. Alternatively I do get mildly annoyed when something he's known for hating comes up which I actually like but he ends up bashing it anyways with a more or less closed-mind, but that's how he rolls so you just have to hope its funny. Probably the review of his I hated the most was the Uncharted 2 one because I just didn't find it that funny, though it could be partially because I'm sick of the racism jokes. So yeah, I'm usually accepting, but bashing a game I like + jokes I find stale = annoyance. I just sigh and utter, "off-week," and that's the end of it though, I never post about it. Except now. Crap.

I usually say that he is not wrong, then move on with my life. He ripped apart a few games I liked, Valkyria, The World Ends With You, Sim City Societies, Brootal Legend, and Phantom Hourglass. There is no reason to get so upset about it because they are opinions and nothing else.

I really could care less whether or not Yahtzee likes a game. He's a funny person with sometimes very poignant thoughts or interesting observations stated in a very hilarious manner but I wont like or dislike something because other people tell me it's good or bad. I absolutely HATE those people who comment on his videos saying "Oh good, now I don't have to buy this game because Yahtzee said it sucked" or things to that affect. Really? It's amazing how idiotic people get with a little anonymity known as the internet. Now go ahead people, tear me apart for having an opinion!

Well, either I appreciate that he points out the pitfalls of the game so I can work around them, or I acknowledge he simply has a different opinion and enjoy my game. I still look forward to his reviews each week anyway. ^-^

I don't care, because I'm not a sheep that needs someone else to tell him how to think, most things are subjective after all, I've read books and seen movies that have been declared masterworks that epitomise everything good about the art form... and thought they were shit.

I watch Yahtzee because he is funny, and often makes a good point about the game, but he's not a prophet speaking from on high about the one truth.

I personally never buy a game that yahtzee hated. Only because the one time i bought a game he hated (soul calibur 4) i hated it too. However, when i buy a game before he reviews it and he hates it while i like it i don't give a flying shit.

I don't think he's done an outright hateful review of a game I liked, so I've never thought about it. But honestly, a lot of people ***** about the games I like and my usual answer is "opinions, lol" or something to that effect.

Actually, come to think of it, the ZP for Oblivion was mostly negative. But yeah, "opinions, lol" comes into play here. His gripe was mainly to do with the lack of immersion. I, on the other hand, don't give a shit about immersion. So yeah.

Well, I haven't liked a game that he's truly hated yet. He's minimized the strengths and put the flaws under a microscope, but that's how he makes his living. Even if he did absolutely hate a game that I liked, I don't care. He's a gamer who has chosen to live in Australia. What the hell does he know?

Just because he has a different opinion to me on a game it doesn't make his opinion aly less valid, or less funny for that matter.
