I only ever feel bad if I hear the noise of them going "squish", or in the case of snails "crack".

hi people i was just wondering how you feel about killing things like spiders/bugs etc, just because i killed a spider and now i feel terrible. i think its stupid that i feel terrible but i can't help feeling that i just killed an innocent thing. i'm the type of person that will normally grab a spider and put it on a branch outside. How do you feel about killing the little things?
I used to feel pretty bad about it. Then I studied philosophy and science. Now I understand that they're basically insentient automatons.

Satisfied. Caught you, you little bastard!

Sometimes mildly grossed out, depending on the mess left behind.

A long time ago when I was sick, I had a fever dream in which a small purple wood block exploded, but it never stopped exploding, and ever since thinking about small objects has given me a slight headache. Killing small "things" on the other hand usually just results in satisfaction.

I like bugs. They make the world go 'round.
However, their ability to poison/harm me directly affects my decision in killing them.
So, if they are harmless and just walking around, I feel a little bad.
If they can take me out in two bites, I try to end them first.

I don't kill spiders.

I do kill mosquitoes and flies.
However, I feel justified in doing so: Mosquitoes steal my blood and flies crap on my stuff. It's simple retribution. Granted, it's a pretty high price to pay for what is essentially just petty theft and public pooping, but, alas, such is the law of the house! *chin up dramatic pose*

I don't like to kill things, but I don't really feel any different when I kill little bugs, mainly because I (as well as others) have done it all our lives.

It's like how a killer gets used to killing people after he's done it for the nth time.

I'm fine with burning ants with gasoline. Roaches too.

But spiders, or lizards that find their way into my home, I put outside.

If a little thing dies because of me, no problem. If I tace action with the sole purpose of getting it to die I feel a bit guilty. Unless it's a FUCKING wasp. I HATE those things. When on vacation in italy THose pests were the size of a game boy colour casette and I slew them all with righteous fury.

I have no problem with it. They aren't sentient, so if they get in my way, i crush them. The only thing I regret about doing so is the stain on my wall/floor/ceiling.

If they are bloodsucking bugs then I don't really think about it, but intetionally killing anything else makes me feel bad for some reason.

Shouldn't kill spiders or bugs, capture them and let them free.
...
Anything that stings and flies can die in a fire though,

The only insect I don't feel bad about killing are wasps, because seriously fuck those guys.
When there's a spider or something in my house I'll always put it outside.

As a kid i didnt care much and killed little things at a whim, even stoned a few birds to death.

Now I just feel some amount of sorrow or shame over deliberatley killing little things, even though I only wacked the spider cuz it scared the crap out of me when I woke up.

Oh honey... I am fucking relieved when I kill something. Either that or I am satisfied. But they both pretty much equal to happiness.

Cockroaches aren't entirely harmful. They can bite if given the chance 'cause my mom was bitten by one when she was younger. Mostly harmless. But they have to die. They are horrible creatures. One time, I was in the kitchen and I heard a sound and I saw one above me on the ceiling. Of course, I fled and found myself shuddering for a while after even when someone killed it because I kept feeling my skin crawl all around my neck even though it never fell and landed on me.

Sorry but I'm rather thankful after I succeed in the killing of things. "Oh thank God, it's dead!" That's usually my main response.

Unless its actively biting me or can cause serious future problems like cockroaches, I do what I can to put them into a proper environment. And rescuing them gives me a chance to oogle at their fascinating chitin formations! :D
