I can see it now. I laugh at this statement now, but in 12 days the world really will end, and at that point my last thoughts will probably be giving you mad props for the epic win of that post.

Although I think the world 'properly' ends a few months afterwards, on October 21st. There may still be time to offer props before the devils drag us under. *sigh*.

Life on Earth: Sun's life cycle. It'll make things too hot on Earth long before its red giant phase.

All Life: The Big Rip or the heat death of the universe.

Human Life: Something between the two above. We have plenty of time and many ways to outlive the habitability of Earth (all of which require getting footholds elsewhere, of course), but it's probably ludicrous to suggest that we'll survive to the end of the universe.

No nation is going to start a nuclear war. It's suicide and no major power has delusions otherwise.

Groups that feel they have nothing to lose (i.e. certainty that they'll be rewarded in an afterlife or that The End is nigh anyway) are the only way that's happening.
