And here I thought I was the only person that did that.

My arm really hated me after playing through Metal Gear Solid 1 & 4...

it depends, with a mouse i just make my entire arm spaz out, and with a controller well I just hit the button fast there is really nothing to it.

I use my thumb to press the button and shake my hand at the same time. This way the mouse (or controller, but I rarely or ever play consoles) bounces back and forth allowing me to press the button more rapidly.

Mash with thumb, then when that gets tired use my index finger. If all else fails, I rub a spoon back and forth on the controller (it may not be practical but it gets the job done).

I use the index and middle finger on my left hand to press a button really fast. I don't have very much endurance though.

The technique that has always worked, and worked the best for the Gamecube specifically, is that I would turn a pen sideways on the button than roll it over rapidly.

No skill necessary, like what button mashing is in the first place.

If I tense my arm hard enough, my arm starts to shake. If I point down whilst doing it, I can hit a button ridiculously fast. It does hurt though, and my arm goes numb.

However, if I have to press to buttons in rapid succession, I can't.

If this is some kind of hardcore button basher like Track and Field...

Stick my thumb and index between the two buttons, then get a pen and violently scrape between the buttons. Oh yes, many a race was won with that method.

yeah spazzing is a horrible way to do it. i do it all the time and its pretty debilitating. i've actually been killed afterwards because of it. but man. if you can really spazz out it works so much better than any other way. i can usually get about 30% more button presses than even the fastest of my friends.

This. OORR I use my pointer and middle finger on my left hand in quick succession to hammer said button. Always my left, because I'm left-handed.

I always use my thumb, because each game should be capable to complete by holding the control in the way that the console manual tells you to, (I believe it does), if it is found entirely necesary to hold the control in a diffrent way, then the game itself is flawed. Though that rarely ever happens.

depends on the button, if it's a bumper/trigger, I use my index and middle fingers topress the button one after another faster than any of my friends can.

if it's a face buttn, then I take my hand OFF the controller to mash said button with my thumb as fast as possible untill it gets tired, then I swith to another finger
