It doesn't bother me, whether it's mine or someone else.
On the whole band-aid thing, since 90% of my blood related injuries occur in the hand/finger area, I still use them, not only are they more hygienic by providing a substitute barrier until the wound seals itself, they also prevent that the wound/cut will open again, especially if you keep on working with your hands.
But cuts/wound on skin areas that are a little bit more hairy... I tend to keep band-aid free.
