How does everybody have such an arrange of user Avatar's here?

For me, one of the great things about the escapist is that everbody has a very distinct "face" that anybody can instantly identify with. You can instantly tell, it's the hpynotoad guy that comments on every forum! The cat girl doing... something. Its that toon thing with the blue shirt and red hat that always is asking stupid questions! But why is it we have so few repeats? While 99% of the photos have been something from popular culture, they rarely overlap in use. I know like the Guru has been used at least twice, and somebody is using a back shot of that woman Suasan uses as her avatar, and many people use stuff from Zero Punctuation, but those cases are reletively rare. How can a site as big as the Escapist have so few doubles and so much distiction with everybody?

Can we call you dadoo? That's an excellent question. It could be because everyone is a unique individual and really thinks about their avatar before they use it. I really don't know. I just found out that no one here has used my avatar; I was shocked!

Wow... somebody who know Animaniacs! I was begining to think I was one of two here (somebody else else PM'd me about it).

Oh yeah, I loved all of Spielberg's cartoons. I grew up watching Tiny Toons and Animaniacs built off of that. It's hard not to love a cartoon family of ,dogs?, where each had a different accent.

I don't even remember where I found the picture from my avatar, it's been in my pictures folder for years and it's fairly square shaped so I've just used it for all my avatar thingies online

I like to think people see my avatar and take me more seriously. Though I doubt I'm of the forum fame you associate with Hubilub, or NeonBob.

Don't feel too bad, as I have no idea who they are. Also, being famous on an internet forum is like winning the first prize in your 4H catagory at the local fair, i.e., who cares?

Also, yeah, the av helps with the SRS BIZNZ appeal, but "Captain Pancake" just tosses that right out the window.

Im not actually sure why I picked my avatar. Its two pepole for one thing, and as awesome as I think samurai' are, there not exactly the best class on FF:T. So, yeah, in my case Im not too surprised not to see the same one, but as for most other pepole, particularly Mr. Hypnotoad, it's surprising not to see a single clone.

I drew my own (Go MSPaint!), so unless someone else, who enjoyed sandbox games as much as I do, wanted to flatter the crap outta me, I think it'll stay pretty original.

As for why we rarely have dupes of av's? I dunno, probably because everyone here wants their own identity and don't want to copy anyone else?

Then I realized everyone here is known by the avatar so I started finding some unique pictures,
I got the Rapist Mario picture [sub]which everyone seems to like more then my exploding red spy head ;~; [/sub] I found a Luigi version of Rapist Mario and made a gif showing both.
Now I have the Spy one up thing that no one seems to like because you're all mean!

Thanks again, and I'm assuming you meant 'Smoke Cloud'. It was a literal twist on someone's username, Smokecloud. ^_^

And back when I made those, I just used my mouse. And I still do, mostly. I mean, I have a small Bamboo tablet now, but I only use it for larger projects.

It pleases me when I see an avatar from something I know. I see yours is actually a monster from the MMO I used to play, Maplestory. It brings back happy memories of my avatar running around in a barrel while I, in real life, laugh at myself being in, well, a barrel. Fun times.

Yeah, I did. It was fun while it lasted but since the person I normally played with gave it up, I don't play it as much. Now with all those updates I missed I'm going to wait a bit until I can play it again. Hopefully not long but I'm waiting on someone to buy a PC so they'll play it with me. I hate playing MMO's by myself.
