This test was relatively easy compared to more game-oriented stuff like 'Typeracer'. My average turned out the same though. 120 words per minute, no mistakes. I'm faster in my native language, but it's not far off.

-edit: Or so I thought.. I'm actually faster in English than I am in Dutch. I spend too much time on the internet.

Also.. Ranking 88, biznatches. Beat that.

Heh I got 51 words per minute... I'm not that fast then (I made a few mistakes and used backspace to correct it...)

But yeah, not a great speed but not too bad considering that I don't really do much typing (Usually more game based stuff... Which amounts to WASD, 1234 and a few other hotkeys...)

I'm a lot better at clicking since I have more control over my right hand (I don't use my left much to the point where 3 of my fingers on my left hand are numb which limits my typing speed)

80 Words Per Minute.

Well, 75 here, but this chair is too short for the desk >.<

35 (faster than average) with just my left hand :p

This thing had no punctuation though; weird test of typing speed.

I don't know, I'd rather take the time to type something coherent, rather than worry about speed.
Obviously I am biased, but speed is incredibly useful. You're implying that when someone types fast, he isn't coherent. That's just silly. If you have a story in your head and you're a fast typer, it's on screen in no time.

I dont't really think these sites give an accurate analysis of typing speeds though since you have to be looking at the words and interpretting them whereas when you type from your own thoughts it's direct from brain to keyboard which speeds things up considerably.

I hit about 60wpm when I'm typing from memory. But as Ickorus says, it depends on what you are typing - the only time when it would be important, is if your a typist, and that job doesn't even exist anymore.

Not nearly fast enough. I think my best is when I'm not looking at the screen and typing; for some reason I can focus better without looking at the screen. (I typed all of this while staring at the wall).

I have relatively long fingers, which sucks when I have to use these space-saver keyboards.

I managed 1663 characters per minute, or 295 words per minute. (4 wrong words). Says I'm in position 10 out of 57128 :)

Burned through the whole thing until it broke and spat 'undefined' words.

I'm a slow bastard. I never bothered to learn how to touch type so I just use my index fingers. I got 34 WPM all correct. I feel that I am a fair bit fatster than that when I'm actually typing from my own head rather than copying stuff down but I'm still pretty slow. I should probably learn to type better...

Holy f---. Is that even humanly possible? I thought the world record was around 230.

464 characters per minute
85 correct, 0 wrong
85 words per minute

Not too bad, but I lost time 'cus of being pedantic over my spelling.

Nah I just used a cheating utility.

My normal typing speed is around the 90-100 wpm range.

I've highlighted this because as it happens, I'm an aspiring screenwriter studying this very course at university and I'd much rather take my time to mull on what I'm writing, to make itterations to even the most minute details to make sure it is the most engaging and cohesive piece that it can be. Basically, given the time I spend on my work anyway, being able to type an extra 30 words a minute isn't particularly a concern for me, I often type slowly when writing a story, not because I'm a slow typist, but because I'm cautious and like to ruminate on the best way in which to present things to the viewer. Though if you are working in an office or something, sure, speed is a bit more imperative.

484 characters, or as I prefer it described, 85 wpm. No mistakes. Not bad for my first attempt.

Still, for a test that simple, no punctuation or numbers or anything, I should be hitting at least 90. It seems I have fallen out of practice.

I can do a fair amount over 100 wpm, but I can't keep it up for anything other than a typing test, and there will definitely be errors.

I think I normally do 70-80ish clean, which is okay. I've spent basically my whole life typing in something though.

487 characters per minute, 88 correct words and 1 incorrect word. The whole word recognition process caused a delay and it was my first attempt, so I guess it was alright.
