How have you abused the ability to name your main character in a game before

Mostly abused the ability to name characters as a wee lad with my pokemon games on my Gameboy. I always called the rival "Buhole" Its pronounced without the t like Ba-hole. It was kinda like an inside joke with my neighbor, I feel pretty immature right now though.
I did that when I was about seven, except called my character Fuck, and my rival bastard...

This needed some explaining when my dad found my gameboy still turned on, with the menu open - as you may remember your profile simply had your name as the option on the menu. Luckily he knows nothing about computers so I said it must have been a glitch :D

In the latest Zelda game I called Link "I say", thereby making all the dialogue go along the lines of "I say! You've got to go save the... etc."

Probably stole the idea off of Yhatzee or something though. He's becoming the internet version of "Simpsons did it first".

Not really the main character. Had to do it on Pokémon though. For example the classic Metapod being called Penis.

Penis used Harden. Penis used String Shot. XD

Turd Ferguson in Oblivion. I still chuckle at that. Old Will Ferrell was so much better than new Will Ferrell. A friend of mine named his twink "Mctesticle" on WoW though. Blizz made him change it so he changed it to "Mctestacle" instead.

In some guys video review of FFVIII, which is hilarious, he name Rinoa 'A Whore'.

When you get her dog, he calls it 'Anal'.
You get dialogue like "A Whore's Limit Break uses Anal", "As A Whore walks around, she gains more Anal tricks."
Her Limit Breaks become:
Anal Rush
Anal Cannon
Anal Reverse etc.

Awesome times.

Edit: One of my friends made a Morrowind character named "Pillow Pants" (Cookie for reference).
Clerks 2, assuming I have yet to be ninja'd.

OT: Not usually. The only times I ever have were in Oblivion, where I named my character Boner.

Edit: And in Pokemon Blue! I named Garry Asshat and the trainer was named God.

Everything, on anything remotely custom-name-based. Zelda, Pokémon...

"******"
"Wanker"
"Dickhead"
"Dicklips"
"Prick"
"Douchebag"

Everything.
It's just nice to be greeted in a cheery tone:

"Hello there, Dicklips!"

I can never personally think of any good names for my characters, but I do recall some guy naming Shiva in Final Fantasy VIII "kumquats", and being greeted at the start of the Ifrit fight with the line "They have kumquats?!"

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I did once create a character with an enormous nose in Fallout 3 and name him Toucan Sam.

Of course, my guy in Fallout 3 is called Shitface, one of the guest player profiles on my 360 is 'your mum' (it's great in offline halo 3 co-op, "your mum just killed so-and-so")
etc..

but seriously, i thought everyone did that..
heheh

I do this quite rarely and forget most of the instances, but has anyone here ever named their character in Ocarina of Time Nabooru? Just so that she'd insult herself?

Edit:

Oh, I remember naming the rival in a Pokemon game "Bernice". This was back when it was always a guy. I laughed every single time...

I've done this all the time. Mainly in the pokemon games where you can name your enemies but a good one i had was on KOTOR (Knights Of The Old Republic) where i called my character Revan and sat back with mild amusement watching my NPC's later go "Oh no Revan, you're Revan".

I've not done this but it seems really funny. I'm more of a serious gamer so I'll always use the same names (usually my Nickname)

Pokemon and Final Fantasies are the best for this. Being able to name a pokemon "dick" and squall "emo git" is priceless.

But I think most people miss out Time Splitters 3. Being able to name your profile meant that there name is displayed when you're killed. Such as "you were killed by AIDS"

=D

I've named characters "Heugh G. Rection" before.

And on Guitar Hero 3, I have Jesus on Vocals, a ninja on Bass, Chuck Norris on drums, and my xbox avatar on Guitar. Never before has there existed a band as awsome as that.

And in Civilization Revolution, not exactly naming the main characters, but naming all the locations of rivers and mountains on the map, I named them all after boobs.

"T'was an epic battle on the Titty planes, under Chesticle mountain, North of Nipple Creek, and west of the Flatchest Desert. Thankfully our tata army was victorious, and the great city of boobopolis was saved."

Resulted in some pretty interesting conversations...
