I've played for as long as I can remember...
I can't keep track of which was the first game I played, since I spent a long time watching my Dad play all sorts of games and the memories kinda blur together.

I remember that the only reason I was interested in learning to read was because I was tired of not knowing what was going on in pokemon blue. I also always used to play the part where you won Epona from Inigo (Or whatever his name was) in OoT, and after a while my dad decided the best way to get me used to really playing was to start the King Dodongo fight, set the controller in front of me and walk away.

Thaaaanks Daaad!

can't remember exactly when because i was so young but sometime within my first 4-5 years. i would "play" the original zelda with my grandpa(i use "play" very loosely because i was too young to actually advance beyond the second screen on my own).

first games i actually owned were on the sega genesis though.

I've been gaming for as long as I can remember. I think Spud was the first game I played, or it might have been Flashback, both were awesome.

1989, Space Taxi on Commodore 64. I was five at the time.

Been a while. Man, I still remember the awe I felt when me and my brother where the first kids in the neighbourhood with the NES and Super Mario 1. Fun times, fun times.

Then came Zelda: A Link To The Past, Chrono Trigger, Flashback all the goodies for NES and SNES.

Since I was 4. So 21 years. My first game was the Super Solvers game set in a TV station. I can't remember what it was called.

My first "console" was a big, thick, gray GameBoy when I was six, with Super Mario Land 2.

I've been gaming for about 16 years. Started at the age of five (I think), with Super Mario 1, 2 and 3.

Probably around...1995/6 (or whatever) with the Commodore Amiga my dad bought. I loved playing desert strike, cannon fodder, lemmings and other games. Then we got our PC in 1997 and that was when I was fully into gaming.

First game I played was 'Carnival' on the coleco vision :/

Well I was playing games on my parents' Sharp MZ-700 back in the mid 80s, but I'd only say I've been properly gaming since I was blessed with an original Gameboy (oh how I miss you...) in about...1990?

20 years.
Damn I'm old.

From what I remember, my parents were given a beta copy of "Alone in the Dark" by a friend of theirs back in... 92? Or 91, I can't remember. Anyway, they played that, beat it, and let me play when I was 5 or 6. Since then, I've been a gamer.

Threads like this one always make me feel old...
At least there are a few other people in here who are over twenty. I was starting to wonder if I was over the Escapist's median age. o_O;

Approximately nineteen years, I guess, starting with the NES.

It's dangerous to go alone. Take this.
