Dear ole' Dad got me a N64 back when I was 2, so about 14 years now. Best thing he's ever done for me. Much better than that sister I had just gotten.

Almost 20 years now. Started around the time I was 5 or 6, I'm 25 now.

Threads like this one always make me feel old...
At least there are a few other people in here who are over twenty. I was starting to wonder if I was over the Escapist's median age. o_O;

Approximately nineteen years, I guess, starting with the NES.

It's dangerous to go alone. Take this.
I started out on the PC, but I got a NES soon after (only console I ever owned) however, a lot of my games were in german (not a language me or my family knew), so there was a certain element of playing it blind. It wasn't a problem with Super Mario games, but Zelda was a bit tricky. I managed, but I was flying blind. However, imagine playing a first-person point-and-click adventure and understanding roughly every 20th word... ;)

I guess when I was about 5-6 years old. Base on the release date of Wolfenstein 3D.
the first game I played, together with my uncle. He controlled the arrow keys, I shot ze germans ^^
Then I got a SNES and later moved on to PS2 (I never had a PS1, I went to play that at my friends house)

so... 17 years of gaming

Since I played old C64 games when I was young i can't think of an actual date based on the games I played. Hedge my bets and say since 1994/5.

I still remember going to Sears on a Saturday in 1982 when I was 5 years old to buy our Atari 2600.

For some reason this makes me think of playing Oregon Trail in German, and it seems so much more fun that way.

I started when I was about 11-12 (4 years ago). I missed out on so much. Why didn't my parents learn me the importance of games?!

Don't remember exactly, but my parents have pictures of me as an infant playing Genesis, so I've probably had less than a year of my life without games.
