How many of you outside of the UK actually want to see the royal wedding?

TV channels have been buying up the rights to report and show live feed of the royal wedding here like no tomorrow, especially over in America, so here's a question, how many of you will be watching it?

Heck, how many of you right here in the UK are watching it?

Me? Well, I'm not going anywhere a TV considering every terrestrial channel has a piece of it. Man, those BBC ads are god-awful.

Thus, as I have an exam (of sorts) the day before, I will spend all of the 29th getting pissed and gaming. Like any civilised Escapist should do on a Friday.

I'm Canadian, don't own a TV and won't be bothering to waste the limited bandwidth I pay for to take a look at it.

That said, I do know more than a few who will be, even a few my age if I heard it correctly from them (mid-late 20's range btw).

(from the US) Even if I had TV service, I wouldn't watch it. Hell, even with presidential inaugurations, I only watch the highlights of the new president's speech. I care about governance, not figureheads.

I'm not (and I'm English). But what I will be doing... During the last football competition that England were doing well at in 2006 or 2008 the final game England were in the whole nation was fixed. Me? I cooked up a batch of cannabis muffins tucked in and walked around my usually busy home town (Brighton). The streets being dead, me tripping the light fnatastic made it feel like I was in '28 Days Later'/first episode of The Twilight Zone or something similar walking around deserted streets. Heres hoping I can repeat the experience!

Outside the UK?
I'm IN the UK and I'm not particularly excited. Modern media has turned the royals into just another group of celebritites to me, and - Queen aside - I don't think I'll ever see them as anything more. I believe that the Queen will be the last 'true monarch' this country ever has, and after that it's all just idiotic toffs.

I could care less. I suspect I would think the same if I was British as well. I just do not see the point in watching it. It is just two rich people having a big fancy wedding. So what? It happens all the time between movie stars, and it is never televised then, so why now?

I was meaning to make a thread along these lines actually, who the hell in the entire world gives a crap about the royal wedding?

I keep hearing TV and radio stations going on like "oh everyone's so excited about the royal wedding blah blah" and I don't think I've met anyone in real life who gives half a damn.

Edit: I'm from england too, forgot to say. But yeah most of us don't seem to give a crap.

I'm in no way interested and neither are any of my apartment mates. On the other hand my gf's mom and aunt are flying to the UK to see it. Don't know why and don't really care. If I had the time and money to be doing that I would do some other stuff.

Exactly what I was gonna stay, this bank holiday is enough for me. (Really I'm selfishly wanting my cheques to clear, and it ain't gonna happen any time soon with these holidays )

I didn't give a crap about our own royal wedding, and I can't say I care more about the British one ^^

I'm sure the royal families of the world hold some kind of purpose, they can stay there for all I care, but they sure as hell aren't interesting.
