How often do you use private messages?

I don't use them at all: I've got no one to talk to. I might consider it if someone sends me one and there's something interesting to discuss, but other than that, I don't plan on using them.

I do sometimes, when I want to talk to my friends about about something private, or just talk to them so I don't derail any threads.

I exchange private messages with one person. Other than that, no. I also don't generally send messages. I only receive them.

More often than I'd expect: but that's partly because people PM me, even so I still use them if I need to ask the mods something, or I want to ask someone something but the thread we were previously talking in was locked.

Yeah, every once in a while I get a message.

It's nice for discussing anything that wouldn't be a good idea to put in a post, or talking about people behind their backs (heh heh).

I imagine that's why the idea was implemented. Gamefaqs badly needs a PM system, if only to contact moderators more easily.
