How to get more women working in the games industry?

A point that a few people seem to have made- that is completely wrong by the way- is that men and women are 'basically the same'. At a biological level, men and women have different brain structure, function and chemistry. I.e. the way we think and act is different. On an anthropological level, men and women experience the world in utterly different ways. So yes, having more women in the industry would change things. A lot.

As far as women not having the interest, I'm sure thats true up to a point. But this may be because areas such as these are viewed as typically male things? For example, I chose to study mechatronic engineering at university- and have faced disbelief from pretty much everybody I tell. Because I'm a woman. And engineers are, traditionally, men. Society tells girls that they should lean towards the arts, and so they do. Hence the 'disinterest'.
