I have no control over my dreams what-so-ever. But I like it like that, it plays more like a story. In almost every one of my dreams I'm the main character from the book I'm working on (who is male) and it varies between him as a teenager and him as a young adult. But I'm always being chased by something that either wants to kill me, imprison me, or use me in some kind of nefarious scheme. The events are always really random too. I've had a dream that was a cross over of godhood, The Last Airbender and Pirates of the Caribbean. That was an epic dream. And I normally have powers (teleportation, fire, flight, speed and ice) but they always seem to cop out on me when I most need them. Try and summon a fireball and get sparks instead. And yet, as weird as my dreams are, I have never in my life had a nightmare.

Also, question, has anyone else ever had musical dreams?

I used to be able to fly as a kid! :D I remember desperately trying to lift myself up after waking up, too. Flailing around, concentrating really hard on the dream I had just had. No luck though.

Haven't had any control over my dreams for years, nor have I remembered a lot of them lately...A dying shame really because the last one I had was epic. I posted it somewhere on this forum too. Can't be arsed to find the topic. :)

I've always wanted to fly in my dreams, and recently I finally achieved it. However, I could only do it if I was wearing green (the more green, the easier it was), plus, it was terribly hard to control, and took all my concentration.

When I travelled to the land of nod, I found waiting for me a place of wonderment and fantasy; it was my imaginarium, my playground, my wonderland. But in time, I grew bored of my own mind, and on a gilded bage I crossed the sea of slumber. On that far-removed shore, I found another world not unlike our own, where countless dreamers lived in their own imaginations; and without words they said to me:
"Illustrate; give form to this world beyond worlds, that all may know our beauty."

Then I woke up and resolved to stop huffing vinegar fumes, but not after I taught myself to properly utilize my mind's eye and imagination.

Also, I do interpretations and I've a clean track record. Any takers?
How long in dream time were you there?
Time was immaterial, but I'd say maybe two centuries or so.

Longest I've been in a dream world was around three days, and I was against zombies the entire time... Pretty sure I wouldn't have wanted it to last too much longer anyways. lol

I have pretty good control over them, thats why i had not real bad dreams in over a decade. But i mostly just *watch and enjoy* and just change topics if things dont develope like i want, or it was the same for too long. Most of the time the program is quite enjoyable.

When i was young i had massive nightmare problems till i one great night, started to take over control (and i summoned the Transformers to get rid of the evil things :p )
If you wanna meet the main protagonist of my childtime nightmares

Did you use a dream journal at all?

heh that reminds me of my first lucid dream/nightmare I had recently watched Jurassic Park and in my dream I was in the back of the jeep as it got chased by the T-rex then I realized T-rex's didn't exist and pulled out a whole ton of guns, like you know in a cartoon when they have like 20 guns in each hand it's it's obviously ridiculous? that was my first lucid dream. I think I ended up shooting rockets at it or something.

Oh man, after watching that I had a dream where he appeared at my bedroom window, climbed inside and my dad had to kill him by cutting his head off with an axe. I couldn't look at that window without shuddering for a few years afterwards.

Only towards the end of the dream do I gain some form of control; and that is usually at that moment when you're hovering between being asleep and awake. If I've got an awesome story dream going on I sometimes try and hammer out a conclusion before I wake up and the whole thing begins to fade.

I have a lot of control with my dreams and i am fortunate to be one of those people how remebers their dreams.
My all time favourite dream is flying. I have such fun when I'm flying and I feel so free.
I have got to a point now that whilst i'm dreaming, I can just decide to fly away and i will.
It is truly amazing.
