How will the Human race end? (No zombies allowed)

Dead guys will come back to life and start eating each other! Wait, no. that's ridiculous. I'm guessing in an attempt to cure some disease we'll only make it worse and get everyone killed. that, or super nova.
I believe that either we shall 'upgrade' ourselves with our technology and become transhumanist, basically redefining what it means to be human. However, the other possibility I see is us becoming an evolutionary 'dead end' (sort of). I hate to use the term 'devolve' but we might eventually return to being semi-intelligent apes, or small mammals, or something completely new after millions of years. By then, who knows, walruses (walri?) might be the new higher life form, building cities under the sea. And they will hunt the deadliest game of all...MAN!
I remember reading an interview about Stephen King, yes the genius who was unfortunately crippled. Anyway, one part of the interview I remember distinctly, Stephen Hawking said something along the lines of "The human race will not survive the next 1000 years unless they are available to navigate through space to find a new home, because there will be something wrong on Earth like scientists accidental making a virus that wipes out humanity" or something like that, but it was interesting. So I guess I think the world will end with scientists pushing science to far and accidentally creating a virus or something similar that kills so many.
Honestly, I doubt we're going to die. We find many ways to kill ourselves off, yet we also find many ways to survive, and even if nuclear war were to happen, there's tons of safe places for small pockets to survive and thrive. As for the other theories, those won't happen for thousands of years, and seeing as how within 60 years we went from learning how to fly to landing on the Moon, I'm sure we'll have colonized other planets or even other galaxies.
For those who say "Alien Invasion." I honestly always wonder, as we constantly think the Aliens came before us and are technologically advanced beyond ability, but what if WE'RE the older race and more technologically advanced? It's possible we might find another civilization that's rather new, and then we're the invaders. Lastly, each planet is different, so being born on Earth makes us use to it, and the invaders would either have to have extremely special tech to compensate, or born on a similar planet (mass similar for gravity, same elements, oxygen and nitrogen count, whatnot) that it's almost a moot point trying to compensate.
(I believe I over thought that, but I'm learning a great deal of space for my military studies, and we know simple things that would make stuff like this extremely difficult. Not impossible, but implausible.)

lack of drinkable water will probably be the end of use as a race...a day will come when your water bill comes and it will be like 10,000$.. So then only the super rich and the VIP's will have water..Then animals will start to die and plants and so on and so on.....and then probably a war will start over water and then BOOM.. nukes will get involved then about 200 years later my great,great,great grand child will be selling your great,great,great childes raiders vest for 145 bottle caps at the local shop.
