Just read the article on Matrix Online ending with the Matrix dissolving into nothing. Also read about how Tabula Rasa had the final fight.

WoW seems to be going strong, but after the final Lich King boss is revealed, will there be anything left? I don't play WoW myself, but I'd be interested in hearing how the saga ends in maybe the next 10 years, depending on when WC4 is released.

Or will the Horde and the Alliance go back to their never ending struggle?

Well, from what I know of WoW, the defeat and death of Sargeras/Old Gods would be the end of some the main storylines within the game, because he/they is/are the cause of most of the problems, so I would think it would end with some sort of peace treaty or global war between the Horde and the Alliance.

Blizzard will make every button on your mouse and keyboard just make your character dance. Then they wait for people to get bored and quit. Everyone who stays logged in will then be IP traced and sent personal letters informing them of how they have no life.

It will end with a boss and dungeon so difficult that only when all players fight can they even hope of getting through it.Once all players log onto every server they are instantly teleported there with no escape and must fight their way through the dungeons which are made to look like Blizzards main offices which I imagine are now covered in gold with instant respawn added in. Once they get to the boss which is the head of blizzard one mr Richard B Pennypincher it will take a long time to defeat him even though he doesn't attack you. After the several hours it will take to defeat him for the next half hour everyone can enjoy the instant xp boost to maximum, the epic loots of weapon sets, complete armour and mounts that are just motorbikes with guns attached. Then a small, well animated cutscene shows unique to all players, showing them looking around the empty room and preparing their...ugh...runestones to travel home when suddenly the boss comes back to life, destroys the runestone and starts conjuring a space laser to destroy all of Azeroth when the player yells NO and stabs him in the face. This makes it so that the laser screws up and only destroys every graveyard and hostile npc in the world, along with somehow making both alliance and horde becoming more peaceful and loving and forming a new race built upon peace, justice, and turning every dungeon and evil looking place into memorial gardens for the fallen. Also the laser blows up the blizzard headquarters killing you and every other player and destroying the login screen and WoW website and copy of the game. Then the credits roll. Now THAT'S how it's gonna end.

Every WoW player would commit suicide at their computers. One by one every toon would stop moving and communicating, only to be logged out by the system or mauled by the enemies still functioning around them.

Game over.

It will end after they have released their next crazy money sucking black hole (which May be World of Starcraft or maybe a Diablo MMO... just speculating). But as far as the story goes... maybe the whole WoW world will realize its lame and just go away or go all emo-style on its self.
I'm willing to bet £15 of my hard earned, finest English moneys that you don't know even half of the Warcraft story.

No, I'm married and have kids, if I knew even a quarter of the War Craft story I would never have accomplished those feats.
...and yet you're are reading a gaming forum, something isn't quite fitting here. Your total denial of being a gamer goes into question.
I know the whole story of warcraft, I have a girlfriend (3 years so far) I've graduated from college and I have a job,so what does that have to do with anything?.
Warcraft's story is like greek mythology (very much so) just with weirder creatures instead of humans.
...don't be a troll in the escapist forums

ok so if we follow your logic I can't be a gamer without playing WoW? That's not true, I play tons of games and enjoy video games, however, I do not enjoy WoW and it's not the only game I dislike either. I don't like or dislike things based on what other people say I should think, do and like. I also like music and movies but dislike some movies and bands but this doesn't make me any less of a fan of those arts.

WoW will coalesce with Sims series when the inhabitants of Azeroth find the Stargate hidden inside newlyfound temple of the Great Old Ones.
And it'll be the end for all of us.

Well a massive genocide of every race except the humans, which lays waste to the planet and the atmosphere too. So they have to put on special fullbodyarmor and then they try to escape onto other planets, when suddenly on one of them they see some zerg fighting a lone protoss warrior defending a techlab... and then the screen goes black and you see a trailer für Starcaft Online.

5 words,

World Of Warcraft Southpark movie.

I bet most of you saw it! It's just as simple as that.. just without Stan's father rescuing everything. :p
It was just an episode, not a movie.

Oh, yeah, episode, that's the word I was searching for :D I'm sorry, as i said, my english actually sucks.

When all the players die of cardiac arrests because of too much body fat from sitting around all day.

In all seriousness though, I don't think it'll end.

Warcraft IV.

Each of the three previous games concluded with a decisive and climactic end such as on Warcraft III when
Archimonde is destroyed and Arthas becomes the new Lich King.

Going by direct threats to Azeroth, I'll place my bets the final boss of the MMORPG will be the black aspect Deathwing.

It will end when all the 9 year olds that blizzard has been so willingly lowering their standards(and difficulty) for take over their headquarters and kill everyone because they made a boss that was actually difficult and required more than half an intact brain stem to beat. Or similarly when all the characters that blizzard screwed up the lore on make a 40 man raid(or 2 raids depending on how much they mess up until that time) and just plow through every server, killing everyone permanently. Or when High Overlord Saurfang takes the Lich King's place...pick one.

The Burning Legion does a full scale invasion of Azeroth, Blitzkreig style.

Oh, and it's up to the players to fight back.

I don't see WoW ending until-actually, I think the only thing that can stop WoW is the apocalypse.

But it will probably end with the undead and infernals killing everyone.

They can't end WoW; all those people committing suicide when their characters go poof would be just too messy for Blizzard to deal with.
