EDIT: I only realized after making this thread that a similar one exists. My apologies.

How would you keep sane if you were captured and put into a sensory deprivation room. No sound, no light, nothing. You are in this room for 24 hours a day. How would you keep sane?

Personally, I would do a few things. First, I would feel my way around the room and paint a mental picture of my surroundings, as best I can. I would either sing to myself, or at the very least talk to myself, that way I can stay accustomed to sound and talking. I would make sure to exercise everyday, do sit-ups, push-ups, and even jog in place. I would recite as much as I could remember from books and such, and I would probably also learn to control my fear. Hopefully this would at-least keep me sane(ish)

What about you guys?

I wouldn't really do anything. I wouldn't be able to lose my sanity that quickly. 24 hours isn't really a long time. I'd probably end up sleeping for a good portion of it. That, combined with deep thought and masturbation would keep me feeling okay.

No no, I mean you never get a break. 24 hours a day you are in this room.

I'd piss on the walls (because my piss is radioactive, and as such glows) to give myself some light, then I'd write a story on the walls with my blood/shit/both.

Or you know.

Just sleep or imagine stuff.

Oh, misread that.

This is really similar to <link=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.199780-How-would-you-make-time-pass-in-an-empty-room>this thread

I'd probably just keep myself in deep thought. I can get good conversations going with myself.

I'd also masturbate often.

Similar for me except depending on how long im in there. After a few months I'd be slighlty crazy, and past a year and I would go insane, simply because there is nothing of the outside world in there.
I would also keep sane by deep thought, and probably masturbate.

Like I said, I wouldn't last very long sane, after being so used to the outside world.

Edit: In the other topic it said something like a few years, so me saying A few months and after year is actually pretty exaggerated... I wouldn't last more than a few months in a completely lifeless, dark room. Isolation and claustrophobia would hit me.

How long for?
'cause I could last a day or two by talking to myself, letting my imagination run riot and masturbating furiously but I'm not a patient person and sensory deprivation is one of my biggest fears, that and being confined so I probably wouldn't last very long before snapping

I'd go...in...sane...create an imaginary world which I would play the main character.

I don't think you would be able to prevent it. When your brain is starved of stimulation it starts to make its own and that process leads to crazy town.
