The first implies that the labour party has done something wrong, so the people answering the question will think of all the things labour did wrong, whereas the second allows more freedom by including the questionee's 'feelings'.

With a plant.
At least that was what I did in a dream I had. Or rather, a girl I had just met had stolen a seed to a surreal plant. It grew with exceptional speed, becoming a full-grown plant in a minute and kept growing. It had flowers and leaves of all colors, it was beautiful.
Technically, it was the plant that engulfed and destroyed the entire world, but we were the cause of it. Unfortunately I woke up before I could see the result.

Firstly, become the "Supreme CEO" of a Hi-Tech company, somewhere in a communistic country that will let me do as I please so long as they get money and tech. I will train all the best minds I can get, allotting a few of them to the project of my immortality. I will work out of them the best technology I can, and create my own defence / offence weapons grid that will allow me to defend against or attack anything from a respectable distance.
I will also have robotic armies developed, capable of annihilating infantry and vehicles. Also robots useful for sting operations, these will be very necessary.
I will have my tech company buy out other companies in defence and technology once we have enough power and money. As soon as my weapons grid and a sizeable force of robots is operational, I will try to acquire land, money, resources even if I must step on toes, at this point things begin to accelerate.
World leaders, defence bureaus, security and insurance companies will all get into serious trouble caused by hacking and sabotage. This will distract them long enough for me to get my robotics going at full speed.
Then I will escalate terrorism and the hacking, assassinations left right and centre. As soon as I am suspected, I will strike, I will make sure that my company's robotic products were all around the world, And that I could listen to everyone everywhere.
Pull them apart from the inside, then deliver the crushing blow, the invasion force and the powerful ordinance only to finish the job.
Once the world is in a state of wreck and havoc, I give the ultimatum: Join me or get crushed.
I would be world leader, and put some resources into defence, but the rest into infrastructure and rebuilding the world as a better, stronger place. Personal freedoms would be allowed, so long as there was no thought of treason. Normal, happier lives would be encouraged, so long as my orders (which would only be frequent in the early stages) were followed.

10 or so chimps trained in Ninjitsu and fiercely loyal, pay a midnight visit to the 10 or so most powerful people in the world. Each awakes with a knife to their throat and a phone to their ear with me on the other end...

After that, I would crack the Russian defense network and write viruses that crash all of the computer systems on those expensive jets they have. After I invade Russia, I would taunt China into invading into Russia. Once the Chinese had a solid presence, I would slowly retreat into Siberia as winter approaches, crushing their morale. Joined by Russian ultra-nationalists, I would create a false nuclear strike on India via Pakistan.
India attacks Pakistan with aid from US and NATO forces. Then I nuke the fucking hell out of Pakistan from China. When everyone's expeditionary forces are destroyed or crippled, China has to fight a multi-front war against the Japanese, Mongolian, and Australian forces who are allied with NATO. After China, NATO, and Warsaw have been weakened, I move in using captured or Russian-built fighters to wage a war all the way down to the edge of the Indian border in the Himalayan Mountains, where I build my secret headquarters.
After I have a solid geographical presence (never fight a land war in Asia!), I would consolidate my power with the local regions, and fold Mongolia and Japan into an Alliance with me. After a certain amount of build up time, I would invade India, using professorial forces against their battered troops. I would Ally myslef with India, American, and the European Union, which would encourage them to take out China once and for all. I would play a slow a cautious game, advancing into Chinese territory all of the the way to the water.
After all of that, my forces and their allies control the world.

First there is no point in taking over the world as it stands right now. First I would want to deal with the huge populations of people on this planet currently. I would release a virus that only I have the cure for that kills all humans I do not directly vaccinate over night. I would first find a decent number of human beings that I think deserve to keep living and round them up for a huge convention of some type (including doctors/scientists etc). Say around 100,000 people from all over the world. I'd try and include artists, musicians etc as well as scientists, teachers etc.
Then i'd kill everyone else....without letting anyone know I am responsible. I would appear to just be one of the 100,000 people.
Then I would start working to organize everyone and since I had advanced knowledge of what was going to happen, I would be much better prepared then everyone else and very likely to end up the leader of the group. With the worlds resources available to such a small number of people, along with the technology level we currently have, the world would be a paradise for us and many, many future generations as well. We would have more then enough genetic variation to continue the human race, and we would have plenty of scientists etc to continue to improve our technology and move forward towards a better tomorrow. Over time I would try and lead the survivors to realize how dangerous the would had become and institute a form of population control that would prevent the world from becoming quite so over-run (more of a long term plan then a short one involving needing to already have/own a place for your future children to live in before having them or something...which would not reduce population size for many, many generations, but would prevent such huge population numbers from ever happening again.
With so few people left and such a mized population as far as ethnicity etc, we would hopefully unify into one people and stay that way this time. No more multiple nations, no more wars etc. It might not work mind you, but it sure would be better off then what we have now.

You do realise that as soon as you're in control you'll have 8 billion idiots pestering you for useless crap like "living standards" and "freedom of speech"? Not even to mention that about half the world's population is going to get seperatist tendencies, and you'll have to suppress that.
It's a surefire way to make sure you'll never be able to take a holiday again.

A series of military Alliances to start off with, then I would offer my support to rebels in war torn countries, I would help them throw out their leader and allow them to install their own if in turn they joined my alliance/federation. I would then supply everyone in my new member countries with the food/stuff they need and severely punish those who apposed them, unless of course they surrendered
Or we could rule it together if our goals are the same. I would only want that scheme to make the world a better place In the long run and to be immortal, if you want to have fun you can keep it afterwards.siahsargus said:
