The Yankees didn't get to the ALCS, but at least they made it close. I'm not that upset because the tigers are a good team. At least on the NL side I can cheer for the Brewers.

Ah yes, I have given up supporting England and have decided to give my support to a more worthy team... like San Marino, which are doing as poor as always. (...)
I love Ingerlund's boom bust cycle. It's always the same. From world beaters to San Marino in a month. The toxic media ripping the team apart, right after they've built 'em up. The hype is as unreal as the inevitable fallout. How can't this be entertaining?

As for good international football, I think I'm rooting for Germany this time. (None of whose players would walk into the England team, I've been told.)

o_0' Are there really no Manchester United fans in the Trafford area?!

Just kidding, but damn, I hate City... they are the new Chelsea... that much coveted label of the Premier League...(!)

Ah, yes. City. Apparently Manchester is blue. Explains why City supportes couldn't find a pub that was showing their last CL match instead of the Yernited one.

The "mighty" Toon Army, Newcastle United, are doing better than in those wonderful dreams of glory I have, unbeaten 7 game start, 4th in the league, it'll never last, but its fun while it lasts. In more local news, Blyth Spartans are doing less amazingly, by quite a bit, hovering just above relegation zone after 12 games. In even more local news my team, the mouthful that is "Blyth Rangers Deportivo Under 16's" are doing even worse, losing all our games so far, and we are 4 games in, playing another match in a few hours, hopefully we can stop this dire start.
Not that I'm not thrilled at our fantastic start, but I really don't understand how we're unbeaten as we only have one striker that's even half decent. Ameobi's never been good and, for all the goals he's scored, I'm pretty sure Leon Best is the worst striker I've ever seen. Any team that has Ba as their primary source of goals is looking to have a shaky season at best and yet, there we are with the big guns.

Wales have got into the semi finals of the rugby world cup! Now we just have to beat those frenchies and were in the final!
And judging from the other QF performances, if they beat the Frogs, they're in with a pretty good shout in the final...

Recently my home-town rugby league team, the Manly Sea Eagles, won the NRL premiership.

Admittedly I didn't really watch any games of the season, but hell, gotta root for your home team!

Aside from that, if the Socceroos make it into the next world cup Ill probably do like I've done and get up early to watch the matches.

I read an article, and, according to Krul, Pardew has been doing wonders for the defense. Also going ahead we have a few good players, like Sammy Ameobi, who is seemingly not awful, or Haris Vuckic, who will undoubtedly be bought by a "good" team if he gets any good. Added to that our midfield is solid enough, okay Obertan is not my first choice, but we still have Cabeye, Tiote, Ben Arfa and Gutierrez. And, credit where its due, Best has been scoring, somehow.

The defense I can agree with, I'm pretty sure we've only conceded like, 5 goals or something. And the midfield, yeah that's all looking great. Can't wait for Ben Arfa to be back as I'm not entirely sold on Obertan either. But there's only so long that we can rely on the rest of the team to grind out results for us. Hopefully Ba can find some kind of form or we spend in January, otherwise I can see us getting left behind.

Also, I forgot to mention, Jonas Guitierrez is a fucking hero.

My personal hero is Fabrico Coloccini, who I would describe as one of our best defenders of all time, not saying much looking at out previous, though

-Doing very well in UEFA with a 2-2 draw against Barcelona to put them at the head of their group stage.
-Not doing well in the Serie A, currently in 15th position, but expecting a very strong return, especially following the conclusion of the Champions League. Should easily be able to defend their Serie A title, but Juventus is certainly the team to beat at the moment.

-Doing okay in UEFA, winning games, but playing poorly. Should get through the group stage.
-Doing poorly in the EPL, also currently in position 15, and I expect a terrible season with a squad that looks weak following the loss of Nasri and Fabregas, and with a few 'less than spectactular' last minute signings.

EDIT:

Manchester United is doing alright so far at the top of the Premier League, although it's only a single goal separating us from Manchester City so far. Living in Australia and not having Foxtel means I get to see barely any games.
I feel your pain mate, but try supporting a Serie A team =( . At least I can catch the Gunners games at the pub every now and then. (I was there for the United game, and it was.....horrifying)

I don't really care for football (both kinds), but our home team (EHS tigers) won the last game so I'd say pretty good.

Manchester United are sitting pretty at the top of the league, although they aren't doing well in the Champions League at the minute, and if they don't beat Otelul Gelati they'll probably come crashin out the cup.

I'd 8 - 2 be in your shoes.

...

Sorry, I'll get my coat.

Stupid joke aside, at least you'll probably make it out of your CL group. That's something, right?

I am a Formula 1 fan and support McLaren and am happy to say that Jenson Button won the Japanese Grand Prix today. It was overshadowed by the fact that Sebastian Vettel got his points to make him this years World Champion so congratulations to him too.

My cricket team lost by 140 runs in our first match of the season.
What format? 'cos if that was one-day... then damn, that was a caning...
35 over match. They made 210, we were bowled out for 70.

I've heard allll the jokes mate, I even helped spread them. I'd 8 2 be an Arsenal fan right now. How humilieighting. etc.

But yeah, Milan are MY team, but Arsenal are my EPL team. As I said, Arsenal should go through, it's weird seeing the team play poorly, but still winning games somehow.

I'm sorry. I couldn't resist. It's some sort of unwritten law, I'm afraid.

Not that I can't sympathise - my other team Hamburg are currently last in the Bundesliga. They have never been relegated since the inception of that league over 48 years ago. The only team to ever achieve that. So yeah.

As if that prick's ever going to put money back into the club and not SD.

Regardless, happy with the season so far, but Toon have a knack of bottling it in the second half of the season.
