Looking and being are two different things. The Pope looks like the Sith Lord, but that doesn't mean he IS the Sith Lord.

I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be one though...

OT: Hugh Laurie does look the part, but each time I think of him as Gordon Freeman I imagine him acting like House and that just doesn't work. Would be funny though.

No, Freeman already exists. He is currently working at the Large Hadron Collider, planning our impending doom.

The resemblance is quite close. However, that does not necessarily mean he would be good for the role. Still, it's a nice thought, and I can dream, can't I?
