Correction. Number of LIVING species humans can interbreed with = 0.scumofsociety said:Number of other species humans can interbreed with on this planet = 0
Likelihood of being able to interbreed with an alien species that evolved seperately on a completely different planet = pretty fucking low.

Cheers for that RyQ. To Murphy my statement still stands, if you prefer it then imagine I wrote Ammonia if you've nothing else to add which is constructive. I'm sure you can lurk elsewhere on the forum can't you?RyQ_TMC said:It does. Life in a nitrogenic atmosphere with insignificant oxygen content could be possible, if metabolic reactions were to be based on reduction of nutrients rather than oxidation. A model for nitrogen-based life was developed decades ago. For all we know, it is purely hypothetical, but works in theory.murphy7801 said:why would breath nitrogen that doesn't make sense ammonia on the other more feasible
Personal opinion, I'd doubt it myself, after reading the posts of others concerning chromosome structure and count, biological structure and my own idea of implausability.
Cheers for this.
Good point...I should've thought of that.murphy7801 said:well no cheast bursters for meKogarian said:Who wouldn't?carnkhan4 said:1. Why would you want to get freaky with an alien
no it is NOT. if the species are two completely different ones, then there is zero chance.WinkyTheGreat said:It is quite possible. It all depends on the DNA of whatever alien species we find. It may not be likely, but it is possible. Even donkeys and horses can cross-breed. The offspring are not fertile, but it can be done.
Are we just considering aliens in the sense of Grays and ETs and such? Just asking.Bulletinmybrain said:Good point. But if they different genetically they wouldn't. (Which I bet they would be.)EcoEclipse said:They would be if they were humanoid aliens... right?Bulletinmybrain said:But humans and aliens wouldn't even be in the same kingdom.WinkyTheGreat said:It is quite possible. Eubacteria vs Archaebacteria

cross breeds of other species only work because of there relation with each other. ie. a horse is related to a donkey. if you where to substitute a human for a horse you could not have a human / donkey hybrid.
I have nothing against asians but that "report" was seriously the most fun thing i've read all year, a bunch of "scientists" who honestly believe that planet earth was visited by marsians back when we were evolving into the modern man, and cross breading with our ancestors to create asians xD.UsefulPlayer 1 said:O_OFronken said:Now where's that link to those scientists who believe Asians to be the off-spring of our ancestors being "visited" by aliens...
But I'm Asian...

2. Species can't produce offspring that can reproduce. e.g.the mule and the liger
3. DNA splicing? probably wouldn't work like it does in Sci-Fi films
...and you found this where?Ashbax said:congrats on first topic,
anyway, ive been studying aliens in my spare time for almost four years now, theres evidence suggesting that a species similiar to the Dropa mated with evolving apes, and thats where the questionable 'missing link' came in, Becuase with that interbreeding we became a cross between alien and ape.
Thats right. This isnt fact, just a theory being looked into, but I beleive it could be real, and Theres alot of these rumours I dont beleive.
So...maybe...WE are the fucking aliens![]()
Well, you can't tell me you wouldn't consider it.Iron Mal said:-words-
It would also be the source of great social stigma (you shagged the lizard-girl!? what the hell were you thinking?).
