Have you guys seen this movie? I was really pissed the director didnt win best director at the golden globes. It was a realllly good movie, instead Cameron won for Pocahontas on LSD won, wtf?

Point is, what are your thoughts? Should special effects win over actual good directing.

I thought it was just kind of average.

There weren't any really good "Oscar type" movies this year.

My favorite was between Watchmen and Inglorious Basterds.

Never gotten to seeing it. There's a good few movies I have yet to see that I really want to. The Box, for instance. Personally, I don't care about those rewards, actors, directors, or anything out there in Hollywood other than the movies they present to me for my entertainment.

Oh yeah and I'm pretty sure there was 'good directing' involved in Avatar.

Everyone I talk to say it's a must see movie not because of the content but just because the story is so compleing... So I will more than likely go get it or wait and see if "Movie Bob" will review it.

Made all the interesting by the fact that Kathryn Bigelow and James Cameron used to be married. Hurt Locker is at the top of my Netflix queue right now, and to all the people simply dismissing it - if it's half as good as the critics and people I know make it out to be then it's not a film to miss. If you like action with an actually story attached to it then you should check it out.

It looks like Jarhead for the modern Iraq War instead of the first Gulf War. Which probably means it is quite good. Idk sometimes I just feel like too many war movies are being crammed down my throat in a year.

The main guy is going to be Hawkeye in the Avengers movies, more based off Ultimate Hawkeye though and hopefully early Ultimates, rather than the cliched punisher/bullseye/ninja he becomes later on.

I believe it is the single best movie of 2009. Cameron as best director is BS in my humble opinion. If you don't believe me, just watch the sniper duel. less than ten shots are fired and much more exciting than Transformers entire movie.

Hurt Locker was probably one of the best films this year, and yeah, the effin' Golden Globes robbed them. Should've won something. But a complete shut out? Pfft.

But then again, I only watched the GG to see that Christina Hendricks in another dress because HOLY CRAP.

Regardless both are awesome movies.

Ultimates 1 & 2 were awesome. Ultimates 3, I'm pretty sure, is some kind of practical joke. It was more like bad fanfic than anything else.
