If i could take back the hours I spent playing through Bioshock Infinite, it would be that because every inch of it offended me.

But I can't do that so, is there anything that I truly feel I just can't go near? Probably military shooters to be honest. I like shooting things but I generally don't like realism in games.

So yeah I'm not a fan of simulators or management games either. Definitely like to keep my distance from them.

I'll be honest, i'm usually fine with anything gore related but fuckin' hell. I uninstalled when the one girl sewed her vagina shut with thread and stabbed herself in the stomach because she's crazy masochistic. I wish I was fucking kidding.

I'll take Nice Boat over that anyday, I thought the SD anime was funny. I feel sorry for Makoto too because he's not even a character. I find he's a plot device from writers who were so focused on making a subversion of the standard harem anime they threw everything else under the bus.
I've actually played Yandere in all its wonder horror and I've give it a free pass for one reason. It is so fucking over the top, I don't see it ever happening. School Days... I could see myself turning on the nightly news and hearing something like it. That just makes me so much more uncomfortable.

Sewing your vagina up is pretty bad, but I preferred the "bad" end, you know... the one where you beat her to death then your childhood friend cuts up her corpse and devours her. I thought that was kinda bad, just kinda though.

Gonna go ahead and add the Kanye West game there. Won't touch it. But maybe is just because I'm unworthy of it.

Incoming overflow family tree from across the School Days franchise!
I feel like I'm looking at the Hapsburg family tree (Charles II of Spain).

OT: I would probably say things like Huniepop or Hatred, things that just feel very tasteless. Actually, I think the farthest I'm willing to go in regards to games is Corpse Party. The game itself is pretty good but I would never watch the full anime series that was adapted from it. I watched a single scene and thinking about it still makes me feel sick to my stomach.

There's nothing really that I will absolutely not play. Sure there are genres I generally don't enjoy (sports, horror and sims, to name a few), but nothing that provokes outright revulsion in me.

I liked HuniePop, because it was just such a silly, dumb game. More a parody than an actual dating sim. It was juvenile and sometimes unapologetically offensive. And I really enjoyed that. Also, I can actually believe it when the devs say that more women than men play it.

You know, I actually played Rapelay out of morbid curiosity, and while it was bad (ya know, rape and such), it wasn't as horrifying or awful as I'd imagined. I didn't enjoy it, but if people do, I don't mind either. I ain't judgin'.

What, do you mean that multiple races across the galaxy do not evolve into monstrous 50ft tall penis beasts that ransack the countryside, or space fairing vagina-dentata species?

After several recent debacles, all AAA games at release. I'm really excited for Bloodborne, but I'm waiting for a price drop before I pick it up. Hopefully by then, all of the post-release madness will die down and I can see the game's quality more clearly.

OT: There is no way in hell I'm going to play Corruption of Champions. I don't understand why people keep recommending it to me.
Dude, I used to feel the exact same way without realizing it...
And then I played it...
After what seemed like just under 30 minutes, I realized that it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be...
Just ignore the fact that once you meet your first
Minotaur... (It's usually a Minotaur, but I digress...)
and live[footnote]Metaphorically speaking, since [REDACTED] happens and the "cycle" continues a la Demon's Souls, I guess...[/footnote], you'll probably think "Well, that happened..." like it could not get any worse than that...
Then, after you spent a good amount of time getting a good feel for your surroundings, then THAT'S where the game truly begins... Or, at least for me, it did...
(Such fine creatures they were, I tell you what... Good thing I took all them potions beforehand or I would have been more screwed...)

OT: Does programs/movies produced by the Lifetime channel count? For some reason, they always seem to rub me the wrong way and that goes double when it's supposedly "based on a true story"... Other than that, I stopped playing the Alice games because of the controls and I see no point trying to replay those games for the fourth time... even if its supposed "story" intrigues me something fierce...

stuff like Rapelay and Hatred
So, people made games about rape and/or a killing spree just because they could? To see what reactions they'd get, what people they could provoke? Maybe even get some weird kind of pleasure from it themselves? Big nope for me.
Rapelay isn't like Hatred though since it has an existing Market, and Rapelay isn't the first "rape simulator" created by Illusion, heck it's not even the first rape game. So it wasn't made to garner reactions, it was simply made because someone would buy as it's a common genre there.
Ah, okay, didn't know that. But I'm not quite sure if Rapelay being 'just' fap material makes it better or worse.

Oh that's brilliant. I've always steered clear of School Days but I think I might give it a go.

Hmm I think the ones I can think of to steer clear from are the games like Rapelay. Just.... I don't even know. It's just bad, ok? And Silent Hill Homecoming. Stay away from that game, it's an insult is what it is!

I always thought what was wrong with School Days was that it was meaningless drivel, with ugly and uninspired artwork?

Fictitious accounts of violence and depravity don't really offend me. So the only game I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole would be one with an unstable explosive device attached, with a blast radius exceeding 3,05 meters.

I mean wasn't SoS just enough to be the gold standard of fucked up.
That is explicitly horror though. I quite liked it, but then I only watched a playthrough with the H elements censored. It is a very effective horror story and a rather sad one at that, in it's own disturbing way.

Oh yes, the anime is really gruesome. Why? Because they show all the gore that's really only implied in the games and every character gets a bad end. If you are sensitive, do NOT watch it. It will mess you up.

That's a pretty interesting take on Makoto. I haven't seen or played School Days, but just about everyone who has mentioned it to me used what little characterization Makoto had to construct him into the biggest jerk on the planet.

So, I guess he's either an amoral creep or an empty shell. That would make for some pretty meta content, having a character who is troubled by the fact that the writers never gave him a personality.

I have Bioshock Infinite on my library, but haven't tried it yet. What about it offended you? I too would like to use my time wisely.

fair enough.
I'll admit I can appreciate the the endings, particularly the one with ryoko, an axe and a shotgun.
And that the whole thing is a quite a ride, but it feels like something most people want to avoid.
I mean I suppose the tone of school days is within the same vibe, and that the shock is a lot higher for most people expecting a happy harem visual novel type (I couldn't actually watch the video so it didn't quite hit home as hard).
But even then there is something that fills me with existential dread when thinking about the idea of song of saya, just imagine that happening to you over time, the soul crushing maddness.
Of course I suspect the bad end of school days is far more likely in general

Never heard of the other one, but I recommend School Days to anyone who will listen. The anime, at least, I don't know about the VN. I like it for the very reason some people seem to abhor it, it's realistic. It's a thing that does happen, an accurate depiction of human nature and the way people would likely behave in a real-life "harem" situation.

It's uncomfortable, but it should be.

MMORPGs.
Grinding to me is the most unpleasant part of any game and MMOs are nothing but grinding.
No, thank you.
