Eh, I noticed The Witcher 2 got a GoG release scheduled, so I figured "why not?"
Well GoG is owned by CD Projekt [the studio that produced The Witcher], it's not usually a platform for new releases.

You learn something new every day, I guess. I've just been too lazy to look it up earlier.

Well I think Ubisoft's clairvoyance will turn out correct...it will not run very good, because they decided to only publish it digitally...I would have bought it, if it was published in a box, but I don't buy digital...

I'm quite relieved that it's at least getting some release. Almost every "survival-action" game has some kind of sci-fi or overt horror element to it (Dead Space, Allen Wake, Resident Evil, hell even the Half Life series), but it looks like this is the first time that a survival game will just focus on the horrors that humans can create all by themselves.

I think they lack faith in SALES of the game...rather than the game itself.

Digital is smart business practice to take with iffy titles.

Kind of not good news... it looked like a whole lot of fun, and this probably means there's something wrong with it... but at least it will probably be cheaper?

Oh goody. Lets make a survival game, make it kind of sucky, then NOT make plans to release it on the PC. Cause its not like that sort of game thrives in certain PC-only audiences.

Argh! Stop saying Ubisoft sucks because they don't have faith in the game. They never said that!

Moral of the story: when using a non-english source, find someone who reads that language to avoid spreading false rumors.

Interesting, and good to know. It's still a cause for concern, though; getting the game to fit into XBLA size limits means content has almost surely been cut. Unless the plan is to go episodic? If so, consider me hopeful that it doesn't come out on the PC. I've had my fill of that crap.

We'll see what, if anything, Ubisoft has to say about it.

I did. I call it the "You Guys Translation Service." Thanks, you guys!

I think this is a great initiative. They have sunk money into it and they should try to recoup the cost as best they can. I think they should release this on the PC and offer up some modding tools so people can improve it beyond what they have done. You can't blame them for not having faith in a product, which despite the updated portion of it, they definitely do not. They can save themselves a lot of money with going by digital distribution only. That is why indie develops do it. I wish I knew more about the game though.

Really? I think it sounds very interesting. (Or did, at least.) Sort of a Mirror's-Edge-meets-Fallout kind of thing, maybe. Besides, it's hard to judge it a waste of money when you don't know how much money it will cost.

Dammit not the game I was thinking. Does anyone remember a game where you are on a island full of Zombies? Can't remember the title now.

Why do you develop something you have no faith in? Confusing, especially since its the same studio which did AC, if I'm not mistaken.

I didn't forget, and was just waiting for something new to pop up about it, though I admit I thought it was a dead project after all this time. Either way, I'll be sure to keep an eye on it- I'll be happy as long as "Digital Release" means "Steam Release". I like all my games in one place.

It wouldn't be very unlikely either, most ubi games are available on Steam already.

Im not even a graphic whore but that looks shocking. It looks like they got Vice City and shoved it in a new game.

Maybe that's why they won't launch it full retail, because people like you won't buy it because it doesn't have enough polygons?
