You can't be that laid back! Even if the OP doesn't actually believe this someone out there does and that is serious business.

I should probably sink this thread, but you do make a good point (In case anyone didn't get the irony, it's "End the war!") so I'll leave it for now. I have had my eyes on it since you started it though and will continue. Some people just don't get a joke.
OT: Pretty funny, but would be funnier if the points actually made sense. Only the patch one was really good.

And no. We can't get along. We need to hate each other so in 200 years we can have United Nation of Console Gamers at war with The PC Federation which will end up in lovely slaughter for all.
Yes, a slaughter which will finally decide which is better out of dual stick controller or mouse and keyboard.

Oh, us poor console gamers, massacred. At least with force feedback we could feel it when we died.

Peace brother.

Lol

But also, when the games get more advanced so do the requirements of fast loading times, stunning graphics tech etc. So basically the PCification of games is based solely on the want of making games more advanced looking etc.

However, since I am a PC gamer, I will point out Gears of War started that whole brown as shit trend (From my view at least), so you can't blame it on PC games. We had COLOURFUL shooters, I mean look at games like Far Cry, Crysis, all those sorts of games based on tropical paradises, they certainly aren't brown as fuck (although brown is in there, as it is on an island with dirt and such)

Oh and the whole patches thing, blame that on either hackers or the fact the developers were either lazy as fuck (which I doubt) or they were rushed to shit and couldn't complete proper QA in time so therefore patches were required.

And I get to enjoy gaming on my functional $150 (total price with taxes, TYVM) 360. Playing the exact same games. And if they try to say I'm "gaming wrong" I get to call them an arrogant SOB, and to drink... a very unpleasant thing to drink.

Edit: 1995. What a year.
Exact same games? Yeah... I think that's kind of the whole problem in a nutshell. XD.

Those really rediculously expensive gaming PC's you're going on about have the capacity to make a 360 look like a seriously archaic joke.
A rough estimate would suggest a current high end PC is about 10 times faster, if not more.

But that counts for nothing when we get exactly the same games.
Because, aside from anything else, that means those games are designed around the lowest common denominator. (the 360 in this case), which means all that high-end hardware basically sits around doing nothing.

What's the point of having a game run at 400fps? It's good for a laugh, but other than that is just a waste of resources.

Oh well. I guess we won't see any real progress in games until the next console generation shows up...

Meanwhile... We're back to a pointless and arbitrary war. Yay!

Yeah, the 'everything is brown' as a recent thing makes me laugh - it's an aesthetic design decision and clearly has nothing to do with choice of platform (for the people who can't tell if I was joking). I mean, Quake, an awesome PC game from my halcyon PC gaming days, was very, very, brown. And it's old, very, very old. Gears of War is brown. Far Cry is very green and blue, and vibrant, awesome colours, just like Mario is very green and blue, and vibrant.

Yes, but I'm more than happy with the graphical limitations of the 360/PS3. In fact, "What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord" is visually appealing for what it is!

Can we please, PLEASE, PLEASE get back to advancing gameplay, the most important element of a game? It's BEYOND SAD that the most interesting & advanced game I've played in a long time is "What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord".

Lol "Everything being brown". I'd also like to blame PC games for the lack of first person shooters on consoles. xD (This comment was sarcastic, writing this in brackets completely defeats the purpose of it being sarcastic. However, this is necessary as I'm sure some mug is going to think I'm being serious).

Games having to install before you can play them. I don't need to name examples: That's Sony...
Games needing patches to work properly. As if I'm running Windows 2000 and it's made for 9x: Patches... which improve the game and make it run properly...
Pointless graphics options. Why should I need to select whether I want V-sync? You're built for a console, just be what's best: What games are you playing?
Games not working on certain hardware versions. God of War, you started it: Again, Sony...
Software as a service pricing models. No, I don't want to pay monthly or for specific features: How is this from the PC?
Everything being brown. Because I want to blame this arbitrarily on PCs: "Arbitrarily." I don't even need to refute that one.

Please tell me you are joking...
1. I've installed more games on an xbox than a PS.
2. Remember the 90s? When games were actually tested and didn't need 100 patches to make it work because IT ALREADY WORKED!

3. Chill out and take a laugh.

If you're lucky, one day it will all be worth it and PCs will lead consoles into a golden age. Although we won't let you into our city on the hill. No, but you can bask in the glitter from up high down in the valley, and do what ever it is consoles do now. Watch DVDs you bought or something. The very idea of buying your media. What a laugh. PC gamers would never tarnish their purity with such base transactions. It would be scandalous. *guffaw guffaw guffaw*

1. I think you are only one who prefers hour long loadings instead of one time installation.
2. Fixing and adding content is actually bad?
3. I dont know like you but I prefer having an option when deciding whats good for me.
4. I dont know anything about that.
5. I agree, this world would be so much better if everything was for free.
6. Wut? Seriously WTF? Ok now you are probably just trolling. Thats not even funny.

^ I agree with the above post ^

I also shall respond by saying that console players should be THANKING pc gamers. If it weren't for us, you would still be playing mundane and brainless games with 5 function controllers. [/troll]

but seriously, all the things you named above exist because of the nature of the systems you play on. If you want to go back to cartridges, memory cards, and abolish online playing then sure, no more updates.

The fact there are some of you unable to detect the satire here makes me despair for the human race.
