I blame PCs for the PCification of console gaming

Don't care if TS is joking or trolling. Let's see...

Games having to install before you can play them. I don't need to name examples
See no problem here.
Games needing patches to work properly. As if I'm running Windows 2000 and it's made for 9x
PC gamers hate this not less then console ones. Any way, it's the result of overall politics "do it faster - we need MOAR MONEY NOW" multiplied by idioticly large budgets of most games and from none to few beta-testing.
Pointless graphics options. Why should I need to select whether I want V-sync? You're built for a console, just be what's best
Maybe somebody dislikes V-Sync? You really care of going into options menu if you don't want to?
Games not working on certain hardware versions. God of War, you started it
It's developer's fail, PC has nothing to do with it. Most PC games (strangely!) work on any configuration within required minimal specs. So on consoles situation is different? XD
Software as a service pricing models. No, I don't want to pay monthly or for specific features
Then don't pay - nobody makes you doing so. In any case - what do PC has to do with it? It's friggin' global trend on all platforms - pay us for us to give you opportunity to pay us more.
Everything being brown. Because I want to blame this arbitrarily on PCs
Er, the last PC game you saw was Quake or Jericho? For example, Quake 2 was green as orkish arse, while all the Dune games are yellow as... Er... Yellow hell.

Excuse me, sir, but the Unreal Engine started on PC, and guess where all the brown comes from? Epic. No, Gears didn't start the brown shooter idea, they existed before then. But Epic made that engine, and from what I gather many games that use it are brown. Except for Borderlands.

I wish game developers would give us a keyboard and mouse control option, though. The original Half-Life on PS2 did and so did several other games on that system, why can't these modern developers do it?
While it did, thats the only game in recent memory than I can think of. (and I did say from my view, so there of course I'm wrong. xD)
Also, there were a few games on Dreamcast that allowed mouse + keyboard (Quake 3, Unreal Tournament)

Wait. Where did you exactly got idea that colour palette in game is tied to game engine used? Engines don't decide on what texture you can use, those are created outside the engine, in a software like Photoshop for example. Engines are responsible for core technical functionality, like rendering process, collision detection, physics, scripts, AI, networking code, etc - not assets used. Those are created by developer studios and just loaded by the engine.

The whole usage of brown comes mostly form the fact that dirt is good to hide lack of detail.

Seriously people I don't know how many of these I need to convey how much I want to facepalm at the people in this thread and a bit at the OP for not making the joke more obvious.
Facepalm, at me? I thought the video was going to make it really obvious, but I guess I was wrong. Whatever you do, some people are not going to get it.

Thank you to the people who did get it and said something nice, or if you got it and didn't find it funny, thank you still for getting it.

I have this urge to point out that non-sequitur means 'does not follow' and is used when one step in an argument does not logically follow from the preceding one. It does not mean 'thing that does not make sense' or 'thing that is not true'. I just wanted to point that out.
Which is why I said a bit of a facepalm for you. Some of the arguments do look like you are trying to genuinely make a point about something as they have been complained about in that manner before. So yes I got it a few others got it but you could have done more to make it more "jokey" if you know what I mean. Yes I also know everyone won't always get it.

How ironic, I am chortling like a friggin' hipster here, someone join me in my mirth. Sigh...

If the world was free of problems, people would get bored because there'd be nothing to improve upon. I get that this is a counter-point to the usual, but I still feel like saying my piece regardless.

Disclaimer: the following paragraph is a joke, made in-character as a parody of an even bigger elitist than I actually am. I love my consoles. [sub][sub]Especially the NES.[/sub][/sub]

That was great, OP. For my counter-troll, all I have to say is you're welcome. I'm glad we, the PC gaming master race, could bring some small part of our superior gaming experience to you, the unwashed console-gaming peasantry. I understand that our superior methods still confuse you from time to time, but I'm confident that you'll learn it and be better for it.
Again, you're welcome.

You're right. Clearly pointing out that we should leave each other alone is "just trying to flame". Brilliant.

Or is the only way to not flame or troll to be 100% in agreement with you?

Nope, the way to not flame or troll is to not take INCREDIBLY OBVIOUS potshots at the other side (ie. making fun of money spent) mid-post. It makes you look... insincere.

On that day, the heavens cried out in pain as the war began
It started with a simple joke, a 24th letter in the alphabet cube cultist stated that internet calculating imagery triangulation projects were influencing every game, there was flaming and sarcasm and people being not very nice persons
from this I have learnt 3 things
1. Mathematics is the language of nature
2. anything can be understood through numbers
3. if you graph these numbers, patterns emerge therefore there are patterns everywhere

I have sent various members of the Nuttelian religous congregation in hope they "Derail" the "thread"

I have sent a message from our leaders here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI6CfKcMhjY

beware, these things may astound and terrify veiwers, men have gone mad and sent for "Fixing" in hospitals
And remember

Oh come on. I compared their PCs to Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann. I can't think of a greater COMPLEMENT!

A little touchy, are we?

There's no fucking pleasing some people...

Considering how I just survived another run through Religion and Politics (where all the insults are vicious and the compliments are backhanded and followed by insults), I'm feeling a bit paranoid, yes.

What I was saying was "they can pay however much (Yes, this goes up AND down) for their powerful machine, but my supposedly "incredibly underpowered" machine does exactly what I want and need it to.

Anyone who tries to say that I'm "doin' it wrong" when it comes to gaming will be treated as warmly as people trying to convert me to their faith.

That seems reasonable enough.

Happy two-thousandth post, by the way.
