Wassup?
I've been reading this forum and others and thinking - PC gamers, sometimes, some of them, like to blame consoles for the fact that some game features are not quite to their liking. Fair enough, I thinks, it must be annoying to have things like a menu you can't use a mouse on, or textures that would have looked just as good on a 5 year old graphics card.
But, as a console gamer, I have something to say. You can say what you like about consoles ruining PC gaming. I'm not emotionally affected by it: I didn't design or build said games. I just enjoy what I enjoy.
But what I enjoy has been marred by the PCification of console gaming. Things from PC games that console gamers shouldn't have to endure. I'm talking about:
Games having to install before you can play them. I don't need to name examples
Games needing patches to work properly. As if I'm running Windows 2000 and it's made for 9x
Pointless graphics options. Why should I need to select whether I want V-sync? You're built for a console, just be what's best
Games not working on certain hardware versions. God of War, you started it
Software as a service pricing models. No, I don't want to pay monthly or for specific features
Everything being brown. Because I want to blame this arbitrarily on PCs
My sense of irony just wants to redress some balance. I'm not out to blame anyone. Can't we all just get along?
