I built a 40k Dreadnaught

No, not a full size, functional one. I finished Dawn of War 2, and decided it was time the Imperium of Man move on to unexplored regions to oust the heretic, the mutant, and the alien. In other words, I got some 40k withdrawl and built a Dreadnaught out of Lego. It's not minifig scale, and a lot of the details arent quite right, but I'm pretty happy with it as a 1-2 hour build goes.

Hmmm... I wonder what those nozzles under the power claw are for...

FWOOSH!

I love the smell of napalm in the morning... smells like victory.

Any thoughts for improvements etc.?

Were I wearing a hat I would take it off to you, as for improvements I really can't think how it could get any better.

Pretty cool for a lego, but I was just in a comic store yesterday and they have real model ones that have the really cool details.

First of all well done. I really am not creative when it comes to building with LEGO. I used the instructions and if I was feeling adventurous I would maybe make some changed to the final design.

If you do not mind painting, I would suggest adding your own details with paint to the model for added effect so its not completely red, or simply replace red bits with gray.

That's pretty awesome.

As for improvements, I'd say vary some of the block colors. Like the middle section is usually gold plated and the feet are red and gray.

There's so much red in that that my eyes go blurry after a few minutes.

EDIT: Previous poster ninj'ed my suggestion. lolz

If only I had some way of adding the skull and wings motif to the black bit of the faceplate. It would really help its dreadnaughtishness (dreadnaughtiness?). I suppose I could make a sticker, but it would probably come out looking bad.

Edit- Yeah, there's a lot of red, but that's mainly due to piece selection, not choice. I happened to have a load of red bricks sitting around. Most of my black and grey bits are in models I'm quite fond of, and gold bricks are hard to come by. Painting is an option, but I'm not quite confident enough in my artistic ability.

Ah lego, your awsomeness as a toy is limited only by my imagination and time...and that one F****NG PIECE, I HAD IT FIVE SECONDS AGO!!!!

Seriously though, nice work. Lego creations, always awesome. As far as improvements, well, they had a line of models, think it was EXO Force or...I don't know, they were mechs. Anyway, some of them came with these light up laser type of things complete with tubes, and, well, if you could get some of those flame pieces in a clear form, then that might look kind of cool, attach that whole rig there and press a button to make the flames light up. Though it looks pretty badass as is.

To fan the flames of the argument of the hour, I present the Lego Mass Effect Mako [http://saber-scorpion.com/lego/me_mako.php]

That's awesome to.

So much awesome is flowing from both of these companies. It's to much to take.

Damn, you have more patience than me, every time I sit down with legos, I forget what I'm doing and either end up building a square wall or doing something else...

Ah yes, Bioware vs. Relic. That was a seriously hard choice for me to make.

Yeah, I really like that Mako, as well as a lot of Saber-Scorpion's other work, and he gets some really nice details in with his magic sticker machine (or whatever it is he has to make the logos etc.).

I've got a good suggestion for improvements to your model. Use it to play this [http://www.brikwars.com/].

That was actually part of my plan all along. Brikwars is brilliant.

That's amazing sir. Next up: Lego Land Raider. lol
I was actually considering a land raider, but I didn't have enough tank tread pieces to make it a decent size, and the shape of a land raider isn't that exciting anyway (the coolness is in all the details, which would be very hard to make look good in lego form). I really wish there were a Lego 40k line, though Lego would never agree because of violence, and Games Workshop would never agree because it might end up being more affordable for customers than the miniatures.

You've inspired me to pick up my multi-thousand pieces of legos again and make something interesting! Congratulations!

Well, you could always just utilize your Legos for quick affordable Space Marine tanks. You mind if I put that on another forum as well as a link to this page?

throw some paint on it, if u made it look rusty and camo i think that would be pretty badass, also more guns would work too.
