I don't like babies

The only appeal I can see of babies is they're "Little people". I suppose some... less...capable... individuals would find this a constant source of amusement.

I can't say I dislike babies. Now, what I don't like, is when parents insist on bringing their screaming offspring into situations where screaming offspring really shouldn't be. Such as restaurants or long train journeys.

I am a girl, I don't like babies either. I really don't like them. They're disgusting. I know they can't help it, but they poo and wee in their pants, they smear food all over their face when they eat, they drool and try to put their own feet into their mouths. And the crying. Dear god, it's the most awful sound I have ever heard.
My plan is to not have babies, I couldn't deal with it full time and I'll never be able to afford a nanny. I can just about deal with kids. So if I feel that maternal instinct kick in at some point, I'll probably adopt or foster children. The likelihood of that happening is very slim though.

I find the funny thing is that people 50 years old are probably saying the same thing for us now. Even if we can take care of ourselves, we're still bumbling through life with our 'Oh so hip' disdain for anything that we don't deem cool or whatever. We seem childish to them. But fuck 'em, right? We can focus our anger so we're better!

Baby lover. I like to be reminded there's innocence in the world. And if you raise it right, it can defend those ideas. That's worth a lot.

I won't judge you if you don't find babies appealing, but I do. They're adorable, it's rewarding to watch them figure things out as they grow up, and it's interesting to interact with them as they develop personalities and learn new things.

Interestingly, these are also all the same reasons one would raise a child in "The Sims".

I'm pretty sure that at least a big chunk of gamers who say they dislike kids do it because it's an easy way of appearing trendy and "young." Nothing says "old-fashioned" like parental instincts.

I don't think we qualify for that any more than someone who posts here that they enjoy Call of Duty.

Unless you aren't actually a baby-liker, and are only pretending to be, which seems like a somewhat pointless idea. So there's that.

Ever watched the George Carlin rant on other peoples' kids? You are definitely not alone in your dislike for babies. I don't mind kids, as long as they can sort of function by themselves and tell you what is wrong. Sort of fits my personality as a problem solver; tell me your problem and I'll solve it. I can't stand the crying and the crying and the crying..... sorry, got caught up there for a second.

Really I think the like or dislike of babies comes from the fact that they are not yours. People keep trying to tell my aunt to have a kid, but her view of babies is about the same as yours.

I'd like to think that the average Escapist isn't so needy that they'd be jealous of a baby for being interacted with, but now that you've planted the seed of doubt in my brain...

Babies are kind of neutral in my book, however, I LOVE little kids.
I find that there is just something so fascinating about a young mind constantly learning and growing. They are at an age where the fun in learning hasn't been destroyed by public education.

Personally, I am looking forward to the day when I get to raise a child formed partly from my genetics. I will be able to pass down my knowledge and take part in creating another independent individual who can think for them-self.

Ya, I dislike babies to, but for different reasons. They just annoy the crap out of me and seem more trouble than their actually worth. Find my view point a bit out of the norm? I have always hated kids in general, and I don't find that changing anytime soon. Even if I somehow manage to find a girlfriend, and have that evolve into what resembles a marriage...I still won't have a kid, cause I know I won't go out of my way to take care of it.
