So i was almost attacked today.
I was driving in my car pretty fast when the driver in front of me stopped at a crossing in order to let a guy cross the road. i was pissed so i honked once. the guy who was walking started yelling at me. i made a gesture for "pshh" (pretty dumb on my part i know) and the guy just flipped started running towards my car yelling for me to get out. obviously i didn't and started driving when i could but he was close enough to kick the car.

What kind of a fucked up world do we live on that someone can turn violent from a hand gesture from a guy he does not know in a car across the road.

So escapist... what do you think?

The irony of your username is beyond belief for me right now.

OT: Perhaps he was having a bad day, and didn't mean to specifically snap at you?

I think there's a psychological aspect there too with regards to vehicles. People seem more angry on the road than when walking down the street. Maybe because they don't usually see the drivers face to face.

So you were driving pretty fast in an area where people apparently regularly cross the road, and you started honking because the guy in front of you stopped so someone could cross, and then proceeded to make gestures at said person? ...

Did you deserve it? Gee, I can only wonder. -.-

He stopped at a crossing to let someone cross.....which pissed you off enough to honk your horn at him? Not only is that an inappropriate use of the horn, it is also unsurprising that the crosser was angered by your rudeness. You don't have any proof that you'd have gotten more than a stern talking to if you hadn't fled the scene.

Yep. That's pretty dickish behaviour overall, from you.

Sounds to me like you deserved it, for being an impatient and discourteous prick.
My reaction when reading the OP as well.

Anyways, I got a simular story;
A friend of my mother was driving home with his 7-ish year old daughter when they stopped because someone was standing in the middle of the road, back against them. When he honked the guy flipped out, ran to the car and punched my mothers friend right in the jaw(his car window was pulled down since it was frickin' tropic climate in Sweden at the time). The assaulter tried to pull him out of the car, but fortunetly he pushed the gas pedal and drove off.
The guy was probably on some drugs or something. >.<

... What I would like to know is why you got mad at the driver in front of you, from the sounds of it he did what he was suppose to do, let the other guy walk over the road(assuming it was a crossing section he was at, you never said).

But yeah the other guy should probably be locked up doesn't sound safe to have walking around on the streets.

So let me get this straight?

You're at a crossing, a place specifically designed to allow the safe crossing of the road for pedestrians, where the driver in front of you does exactly what he's legally and morally obliged to do, let another cross the road at a place designed for that exact purpose, and you start honking at them?

Then you're surprised that you're not the only impatient prick on the planet when the guy crossing the road gets angry at you for seemingly attempting to break the law, going as far as to kick your car?

Yeah... I think it would be mutually beneficial to you and your country if you were to leave. I hear Antarctica is great this time of year.

You deserved it.

I do remember when my brother and I was driving really fast and a guy overtaked us, stopped us and told us his windscreen was ruind becasue we "sprayed it with stone chips" from the road.

He said he was just going to get our plate numbers and then he left, he also had a knife on him.

You are immoral in many ways. You are in a moral pit, look upwards and believe you are soaring in the sky. That is a delusion.

Exactly! And thank you for the warm welcome! It seems that things haven't changed in regards to driving if they were making cartoons like that back then. I can say that from my experiences, driving in California is still a lot like that. (Maybe not as exaggerated though... maybe.)
