I remember when MTV used to have music on it. That makes me feel really old.

A while ago I was em...acquiring DS games for my little sister who owns one of those R4 cards. So I took a look at it; a tiny, 1 cm by 1 cm plastic card holding 4 gigs. I then looked at a floppy disc:

[HEADING=2]WOAH!!![/HEADING]

I felt really really old.

Yeah, when I looked at his profile and saw the listed birth year as younger than me I was like, "Was he poor or something?" 90's kids rocked the SNES.

I don't really feel old, sometimes I feel a bit of a humor disconnect when reference 80's pop culture and 90's pop culture people my age wouldn't have seen.
I know how you feel in that way. But it's funny to see how all that technology has brought us this far. I mean, remember the 'good ol days' of the big walkman or the discman where you had to walk veeeeerrrry carefuly not to let it skip. The 12 Mhz PC's with a 'turbo' button on it, for crying out loud! And now we are here.. ! :)

I know! It melts my mind to think that resident evil, a game that was originally on a disc, can now be put on a tiny ds card. Twice even, considering the rebirth mode on the ds version.

And "scanners", that's another thing that makes me feel old. Maybe it's my love of pre-nineties horror that makes me feel older than I actually am? XD

I remember when I got my first CD player, my first skip protection CD player, and then my first skip protected mp3 capable CD player (2001). Then I remember my crushed ego when one of my friends at summer camp had an mp3 player in the very early 2000s.

Pokemon Blue came out 13 Years ago. I was 8.

Now i feel old.
That just about did it until my considerable math skills managed to deduce that you're three years older than me.

When I realise that I'm 17 and that's almost a potential quater of my life gone. Assuming I die at around 80. I assume that's average...
When I see this post and realize you're not even half my age yet.
Goat, Theres two things:

You're one of the older members here, And the fact that there are a lot of people under 17 here must make you feel old sometimes.

But then again, You're young enough to be accepted here, So silver linings and all.

I mean, I know i feel old, And im only 21. It reminds me of this time when i was out looking fo*- GET OFF MAH LAWN!

Let us begin on the list of infamy shall we?

1) There was a time when I once said "Whoa! King's Quest 6 is on 8 floppy disks! THAT'S HUGE!"

2) I picked up my dad's saw and yelled "BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL! I HAVE THE POWER!" And I believed that I HAD the POWER!

3) Tom Cruise's career for me is frozen at Top Gun. I don't care what movies he's been in since then, just Top Gun.

4) Star Trek the Next Generation is the penultimate Star Trek. Everything that came after is just gravy.

5) I don't understand emos. Strike that, I don't understand kids at all. Since when the hell could a girl start dressing like slut at twelve? I mean, there's not even anything there to oggle!

6) I remember when we could just blame everything on the Soviets. Why are we dumping money into defense budgets? The Soviets. Why did my report suddenly disappear? The Soviets. Why are we raising taxes? The Soviets. Corollary: I knew that if the Red Menace ever made it over the ocean, it'd be up to me and my buddies to get 'er done. WOLVERINES!

7) Hell, I can even remember when the USA really like Iran and Iraq. This was of course before Ayatollah Khomeini. Sometimes I wonder if Ayatollah Makhbudan and his gang of fanatics will ever manage to seize power...

8) WRT to last sentence, it was from when the Simpsons was funny.

9) The Education system was never particularly good, but now I shudder to even think of what kids these days are getting taught. It's as if they go to school to get dumber.

10) Can anyone else remember when gas was something like 10 cents a litre?

When a kid stood outside with a vuvzela, and my first impulse was to shout at him to shut up, not drown his noise in a glorious symphony of death metal that would bleed the ears of the gods.

I think this comic pretty much sums it up:

There are a surprising amount of things that can make you feel old in your mid twenties.

When I went to rebuy Dr. Feelgood and found the 20th anniversary edition and remembering when I got a pre-release copy of it back in high school and Motley Crue was relevent-that made me feel old.

I work in a video game retail shop. You want to feel old - watch the magic as young people ask me the following questions:

"Whose Sonic the Hedgehog"

"What's a Ninja Turtle?"

"What's that?" (Pointing to a goddamn NES!)

And my personal favourite - "N64? C'mon Mom! That system is like, Super old"

My god, I feel your pain. I think I shed a tear for each of those quotes.

Oh yeah I feel old when I realise that most of the younger generation are idiots... and have horrible taste.
But dont you realise that the generation above yours probably thought the same about you?
