I feel old...

When I realise that I'm 17 and that's almost a potential quater of my life gone. Assuming I die at around 80. I assume that's average...

A quarter of my life gone at 17? I bloody well hope not.

However I feel about 30. I feel so out of place, I love all old programmes from the 70's and 80's and hardly any nowadays. OP I also use the words "Dude" and "Cool" and Im even younger.

I work in a video game retail shop. You want to feel old - watch the magic as young people ask me the following questions:

"Whose Sonic the Hedgehog"

"What's a Ninja Turtle?"

"What's that?" (Pointing to a goddamn NES!)

And my personal favourite - "N64? C'mon Mom! That system is like, Super old"

My god, I feel your pain. I think I shed a tear for each of those quotes.

Each of those made me die a little inside.

Then again, around these parts, the N64 was the weird kid's console. All the normal kids had a Playstation.

Also, who remembers blowing into a cartridge to get it to work again? That fixed, like, everything.

I remember Sonic and Jungle Strike, and Dick Tracy, and Daffy Duck in Hollywood... I also remember hating on 3D because it was fugly. As in, 3D- games with a third dimension. When I was a lad, we didn't even have a third dimension to project and get headaches from!

But dont you realise that the generation above yours probably thought the same about you?

Probably. Not specifically about me but my generation did spawn the scum named chavs...

I've been playing games since the 80's, and it makes me feel incredibly old when people relate "old games" to games that are 5 years old.

It doesn't count when 12 year old kids are calling games old.
