What things make you feel old? Sayings, films, games, references no-one else seem to get, music, whatever.

For me, it's my usage of the words "dude" and "cool". It's like I'm a nineties sitcom cliche...

Also, when I remember playing frogger on my old Commodore 64. Mock me, but it was awesome at the time.

EDIT: BTW, I'm 19, I feel around 40. XD
you're not even twenty yet, you don't get to feel old! >.>
srsly, I'm twenty five. My niece (who's like four) saw me put in the little mermaid and she said "I DON'T WANNA WATCH AN OLD CARTOON!" I swear to god, I felt myself age.

New cartoons suck... I miss watching the first season of pokemon with siblings on weekdays, and then my brother and dad discussing the ridiculous size of the characters' boobage.

Edit: I don't feel old, mostly because I am aware I'm not. I just miss them good ol' times.

I can't stand most modern pop music, but that's probably a sign of sanity rather than aging.
I'll agree with that.

Also, I'm almost 23 and:

I find myself looking at kids playing in the street and thinking that they're too young to be out on their own!
I look at games I played in the 90's and think to myself that they aren't that old and then realise that it was at least 10-15 years ago!
I play PS1 games and say thing like "They don't make them like that any more!" (Thank god they don't!)

How did you own a C64? They stopped making them when you were like 2 lol
Yeah, but my parents had kept one in the loft. I did have a ps1 at the time as well, but I would often go back to the c64 every once in a while.

When people call games like KotOR, Half Life 2, and other games from this decade old.
I've been playing games since the 80's, and it makes me feel incredibly old when people relate "old games" to games that are 5 years old.
I describe them as "last-gen". Although the 9-year-old Mafia is definitely an old game to me. Still, that's over half my life time ago.

I feel old when I watch Abbot and Costello and listen to Frank Sinatra. Apparently this is not what most 16 year old boys do.

I always feel like i missed a lot of things and should've been born a few generations back, for instance i like rock music alot, love comic books and (apparantly) adore the classic karate kid.

I felt old when I was watching Legend of the Seeker (crappy crappy tv show) and it reminded me of Xena Warrior Princess. Also how much better Xena was. Now I miss Kevin Smith (the one who played Ares) and am reminded that he died. ;_; I wish it was easier to find online.

I know that I'm young, I'm not going to kid myself into thinking I'm at all "old", but I probably have similar viewpoints to a 65 year old man. I find young culture's obsession with alcohol confusing and disgusting, and that makes me feel like the biggest square in the universe.

For me, old references just make me feel like an out of touch nerd, they don't make me feel old.

When a kid stood outside with a vuvzela, and my first impulse was to shout at him to shut up, not drown his noise in a glorious symphony of death metal that would bleed the ears of the gods.
... I probably would've done the same, even though I'm probably the same age as the kid.

OT: Calling kids my age kids and seeing how they listen to horrible music and generally have no taste a different taste in just about everything makes me feel mentally old...
Also, realizing I don't want to grow up, and then realizing I thought the same at least 8 years ago makes me feel old.

Was he on your lawn? :p

Personally, just talking to my mate about some TV shows we watched that died out "ages ago", particularly when we sit down to watch an old movie or worse yet, an old cartoon and start remembering we pretty much grew up with Tom&Jerry, Looney Toons and the like and the comparing them to what the "kids these days" watch. After uttering those words, we just feel like the two old guys from Muppet Show, mumbling away :p

I was talking to my 14 year old nephew about games. He is hardcore into his Xbox and Wii. We were playing the Wii's Smash Bros and I chose Sonic as my character. He turns to me and asks "Who is that guy?".

He wiped the blood from his forehead and I answered "You never fought in the console wars". At that moment, I felt old.
Who doesn't know who Sonic is? Ship this kid over to my house and I'll kick his ass.

Or at least give him a lecture in video game history. Your choice.
