I live near the King of Prussia mall, yes that massive temple to commerce and capitalism in eastern Pennsylvania. And I finally found a game store that Wasn't a damn GameStop

Let me get my point out right here, I don't really despise gamestop, I do shop there, but I hate their policies that could only exist in a monopoly, I hate that they give you $10 for a used game and then sell it for $30. I hate that they screw over the developers with their used game scam, then demand exclusive content.
As "Canada" Bill Jones said "I know the game is crooked, but it's the only game in town."

But I've done it, I've found a place where I can get my gaming fix without feeding the war machine that is GameStop.

It's a Game Traders, the store is bare bones at best, it clearly hasn't received the foot traffic that the two (yeah, TWO Gamestops in the mall has. but it's still another option.

I'd like to see this thread be a place where people can post locations other than gamestop where they can shop to get good games.

Countries where Gamestop doesn't exist? I've honestly never gotten the big deal about used games sales. I mean seriously, one person loses a copy, the other person gets a copy. There's still the same amount of games in circulation. It's not like they're pirating it.

(To what I heard, there are about a half dozen or so still in existence)

EDIT: SON OF A fucking *****, I just remembered I had 5 free disc resurfacings at a certain GameCrazy. FUCK.

I sure could use those right about now...

GameStop is a bit of a Failure in Britain. They can't wrestle the market off of GAME, and GameStation is moving in and taking customers as well.
I do pretty much all of my game shopping in a small GAME store in a building that is going to be knocked down to make way for yet another clothes store, because the current one wants to move 500m closer to the new shopping center.
Unless they managed to stop that. I hope so, otherwise a load of shops will go down if they demolish the old Bargate shopping center...
Anyway, even if GameStop became the only choice, I wouldn't go there.

I think EB is just another part of Gamestop...

OT: I used to work in an indie game store and we sold everything from NES to PS3, but most people only said stuff like "where da new madden at mahn?" So we didn't last long. There is another store here now that is indie and he can get exclusives so I'm hoping it last's.

EB Games and GameStop is the same thing, at least it is in Norway. most EB Games shops got turned into GameStops though. (over here.)

But a lot of European countries have GAME too, which is just as horrible as GameStop, but hey at least I have a choice :D

I personally buy my games at electronic stores (that sells more than just games) Because I feel the game specialist shops only have one thing going for them and that is the trade in/used sales, which is something I don't use.

They are neither specialist, nor do they carry a bigger selection of games than other games retailers.

Well England is full of Game, Gamestation and CEX stores. I was suprised to see we actually had Gamestop's over here, found one in a rather obscure location not too long ago.

Oh and CEX is like a battery farm for used games, it's not a nice place to be. Really good for PS2 games though.

Then no. Just a local place that sells gently used games. Kinda like a Plato's Closet of games.
Yes, yes it is. I can tell you that for a fact. That's how you know your company is an unholy monolith that must perish. You have two different names for the same services in order to create the illusion of competition.

There's this nice little place up here in Oshawa called G.A.M.E.S (standing for Games Are My Entertainment Source), that sells reasonably priced used games, as well as some new games as well. All in all, it's a nice little place, though I usually go to EB Games if I'm getting a new release.

Maybe all game stores should put emphasis on the word "gently". I seriously got some games that look like some dogs got a hold of them.

Prbably. I just know he checks each CD with the care of a mother holding her baby and makes peple play them to make sure its not screwed up. he wont take games if they are damaged in certain ways.

Not too strict on age policies though. I got a sixteen game when I was twelve by putting on a fake moustache that fell off half way through.
(Can't remember the name, but it was sixteen because someone said "Shit" once, and there was a kissing (Not sex) scene as well as a bit of blood every now and then. That was not worth the sixteen rating)

Try Australia, I have yet to see a Gamestop store anywhere in my country.

OT: With my above comment stated, this isn't a common occurrence here. We have GAME, EB games, jb hi-fi and even places like dick smith and big w have acceptable game supplies. Especially game, because they treat you pretty well there.

[sub]Too bad EB games get most of the exclusive content...[/sub]

That's what I meant. Countries where Gamestop doesn't exist is an example of a place without Gamestops. My post was a bit ambiguous, I know. I am Australian.
