I got a job!

Yeah! I haven't had a permanent job since I was 16, I'm now 19, and after some hard work and a metric tonne of luck, I've netted myself a stock control job at a grocery store.

I am absolutely over the moon. The job market around here is diabolical and I've had god knows how many unsuccessful interviews and applications so to finally get what I wanted for once feels good!

Nope, there's no discussion value here, I know that, but this is a big deal for me. National unemployment rises and somehow I get a job!

Like a salmon swimming upstream, I have achieved my goal. Fuck yeah.

That's great, do you plan to do this for a long time? Or are you aiming for a different job? If so are you using this job as work experience, or money to save up and move to the location that has the jobs you want?

Yeah, the amount of fuckin CVs I printed off and aimlessly distributed is ridiculous. You just have to be in the right place at the right time to make it all worthwhile.

After being unemployed for so long I couldn't afford to aim for specific jobs. As far as job type goes, I'm pleased it's working with stock rather than working with people, but I would have settled for either. The dream is to become a body piercer, but at this place (Tescos, not exactly The Ritz but I can deal) they don't allow any facial piercings so displaying to parlours that I have an interest in what they do is going to be nigh impossible. I'm happy to have anything right now so piercing can wait.

Yeah, the opportunities there are more numerous than in other stores due to the number of departments I guess. It's worth noting that the job I got starts at 6am on two of the days I work >_<
