It varies greatly depending on what game you're playing. The people that play Halo are usually jerks, but most of the people I've met on Left 4 Dead have been pretty cool. I think it's because the latter encourages, nay, demands cooperative gameplay and so if you start insulting your teammates they're not going to want to save you.

I've only met two trolls on L4D in 15 hours of gameplay, so I'd have to agree with you there.

Anyway, there's a simple answer: there are trolls everywhere. Just mute them or ignore them.

but as you mentioned the PSN community from the most part in my experience is much more mature.

Due to their inability to speak. I know a few PS3 trolls with mikes. They're just as offensive as the 360 variety.

Trust me, idiots are everywhere. The Xbox seems to have the most just because everyone has a mic. On the PC, people seem friendlier because they usually type things out. People tend to be friendlier when they have to take the time to spell it out.

So i got a 360 for christmas, so i left my PS3 and Wii rest.
Been playing online games since Diablo 2, and never have i seen so many (excuse the language) arseholes before! Almost everyone i meet on xbox live are pricks who has an urge to swear and make rude remarks every two seconds or people who seem nice for a while but then they start being just like the the others.
Does xbox live really change people? I've never met anyone like this on PSN, so i dont get it!

I hear you. basically the lexicon of the entire 10 year old populous xbox live (minus a few alright people and an even more miniscule amount of really good people) is made up of words that consisting of no more than six letters except perhaps their own bloody names. In fact I might start a thread on the highest number of letters in words used by people on xboxlive.

For some reason, please like to be assholes when no one knows who they are. Chances are, they're actually pussies who wouldn't even think about saying half that stuff to your face but need to pretend like they're tough and cool.
