What console doesn't prove someone is "smatter" than anyone else; only that said console suits your gaming styles / your friends own said console. Neither console is superior, neither user-base is superior.

The only reason this still gets debated is because many PSN users don't use microphones - either because they don't have one or they don't want to hear the idiots that do playing loud music. The Xbox community suffers from a large percentage of idiots, but to say that PSN does not have an equal proportion of trolls is laughable. In fact, the fact this thread is still going after the OP has practically displayed his open fanboy / trollish nature "I've never met anyone like that on PSN" is rather interesting.

I've said it once, I'll say it again - anyone who thinks like that is a moronic fanboy...then again your already a fanboy...

Oh I disagree; it takes serious mental retardation to buy a 360 as your primary console. The moment the damn things stop catching fire, or going into RRoD, they start destroying your disks.

Between everyone I know (as in, have had more than five conversations with and can remember their name / user ID) virtually none have any complaints about consoles breaking down... except the ones with 360s. The failure rate is attrocious, and the fact people are stupid enough to pay good money for faulty products and still praise the tech support proves how retard people can get.

You've tried, and failed, to argue that 360 owners are not at "smatt" as the PS3 owners because the failure rate used to be higher? I've had my 360 a full year and a half with no issues; my friend who owns a PS3 has had to get his replaced... yet your grand survey off 5 people turned out negative...congratulations; thats sound evidence there! I wouldn't trust anything you said regarding the pair of consoles without proof anyway...

When did this turn into a massive console war as you haven't addressed online gaming at all...then again, maybe its because you know your wrong and there is no difference, you just want there to be (and consequently thats what you "see") so your stupid fanboy ego can gloat...

To be honest I am starting to hate xbox live as well because in matchmaking you are automatically labeled as "noob" when you try out online play on a new game or called "no life loser" when you get even half decent... well you get called that every time you kill them. the only game you really can avoid those kinds of dicks -in game- is 360 rts's where you have to be cooperative and nice or you're both fucked... but then the gloating of the other team or pissed off screaming come into action after the game is over

Take my advice.

1. Only add people on your friends list who you know in real life

2. Only use your mic to talk to said people, don't talk to anybody else.

3. Whenever playing a multiplayer game, either dont plug your mic in or be in a party chat with your RL friends from 1 & 2.

This has worked for me for years, and hasn't failed me yet.

Yea, I pretty much have the same problem, but I haven't met anyone over PS3. Most people over live are either 10 year old, people who think they are "Pro" and can make millions of dollars just by being god when they can't even pass the first round at a tournament, and people who think they are gangsters.

It isn't the same. Being on XBL is realtime where on PSN they would have to stop and type the message to you. Kind of hard to call you a camping douchebag in the middle of COD 4 deathmatch when they have to stop and type it out.

I must be very lucky. I have met tons of decent people on XBL. Very rarely do I meet some random that I can't get along with.

Look, not even 10% of people on XBox Live are arseholes. The problem is, when someone is an arsehole, they're always loud. The other 90% are decent people, but because they're not arseholes they don't have as much to say, so you don't notice them as much.

You might like Left4Dead. It's not perfect but the game requires so much cooperation that you're all on the same team. That dynamic reduces the "asshole factor" quite a bit. Also, people can kick people out of the game so if you run across a jerk he quickly gets the boot. That knowledge prevents jerkyness in the first place.

It's not perfect, you still find jerks but it's nothing like COD4 where almost half the people are racist idiots.

Edit: L4D also has a ton of girls. For some reason girls rarely turn into total assholes just because they are anonymous.

Seriously, it's not xbox live's fault. It sounds to me that you're playing the wrong games. Let me guess- plenty of Halo 3 and Call of Duty, right?

Play more mature games, like Rainbow Six: Vegas or Battlestations: Pacific, and you will meet more mature people.

Or just talk with your friends in private chat or a party, or take your headset off. Problem solved, now you can enjoy xbox live for what it is.

This is true to an extent though I've still met a few dillholes on Vegas but they were easy to deal with due to the sacred mute feature. Best thing to happen to gaming since the invention of the D-Pad! Anyway the age of the game also matters, play COD4 or WAW and you're bound to find monstrous dickweeds (pardon my language) but go to COD2 and the most people will say is "Good game, wanna play again?"

It also has to do with the person, I'm usually very kind when I do use my mic and so is my little bro (whom I share my profile with) but I don't like using my mic anyway.
