Youtube: Where common sense goes to die a while. I actually saw somebody post "FAKE AND GAY!! No way can a bike be hit by fire and be destroyed that quick." Mind you, it was on a Pokemon video. I mainly read the comments for "When I am king of this world...." purposes.

This is the thing that really frustrates me about this site, it just seems like these forums have become a place for people to vent their hate rather than promote positive discussion.

To paraphrase a certain Jedi master, you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than posters on Youtube (well actually you can, but I don't go to those websites).

I just dismiss them as the attention-starved ravings of trolls and lunatics that they are and don't bother reading them in most cases.

This bugs me all the time. I think after a certain point any youtube video's comments will descend into an eternal flamewar, and the amount of time it will take depends on the content of the video.

You have no idea how many times I have had to type, "Hey dude, how about you actually post something about the video? K?".

I remember I made this one video, and this 11 year old girl called "Hannahmiley99" said 'lol u retarded', to which I responded with an eloquently worded 6 paragraph dissection of why exactly I wasn't retarded. I hate to toot my own horn, but what I wrote was worthy of a college paper.
Don't take this the wrong way or anything, but why do you care, and why are you wasting so much effort? Everybody knows the comment section on Youtube is a cesspit; what's wrong with deleting the dumber comments (or ignoring them), and responding only to the people with something to say?

Most of the people on YouTube are sometimes the rejects of 4chan..i suppose if you're unable to troll on one site you go to another...except here of course we're smarter than that.

I love on how every video involving the military its a debate on what country can kick the other countries ass and why, usually having something to do with a super top secret ultra awesome leet gun they just invented

Edit: Or the obvious CGI videos that are so ungodly obviously fake, theres always the one genius who has to enlighten us by telling everyone its fake

Youtube is like Walmart. Such a great variety of stuff, but the people... the motherfucking people...
Great analogy.

OT: My advice to you: If you are annoyed by anything or anyone, like youtube commenters, just don't pay attention to them.

Trust me, its much better for you and your blood pressure....

To be fair it happens on here all the time. You will constantly see people going off on a rant about a game they dislike even when the thread wasn't asking for an opinion on it.

Example:

OP: "Who is your favourite Halo character?"

Ranter: "None, I hate Halo because [insert bile filled rant here]."
please don't say bile, at least that has a use.

Yeah, I just stay the hell away from youtube comments, about 1 in 20 isn't completely stupid/ignorant/racist, and then it's usually just mundane. It really isn't worth it. Speaking of which, is there a way of disabling viewing comments on my account? It's too tempting to view them, but I always regret it...

Youtube is full of three types of people... Plain idiots, nerdy idiots, and sensible people. Sadly the sensible people only make up about 10%. :(

I don't use youtube.

Take that!
To quote Wayne's World:
'We're not worthy!'

But to get back onto the original topic, yes, I use YouTube, but only to watch the latest video installments on Dead Fantasy (DOA/FF crossover fighting videos).

Oh, and occasionally to hunt down trolls for my side-job.
Going on 4chan to hunt trolls is like going to a sewage farm to find turds. You know they're there, and they always smell like shit.

What's even worse is that Youtube has practically become self-referential in this right.

Too many times have I been linked to Youtube from another, more intelligent forum only to find myself face to face with one of those videos where some 20-something is staring into his camera bitching about (insert ideological platform here) for a solid 10 minutes, as a reply-to-a-reply-to-a-reply to a video depicting a famous speaker who -briefly- mentions the topic the 20-something is now bitching about.

Religious and political topics are the most obvious, though I once found a video claiming that PS3 fanboys where "ghey", citing a few reasons why 360 is better, which was a reply video to the same thing in reverse.

Nowadays, I use Youtube to watch videos and that's all. Occasionally I'll hop on comments to voice support for the video, though I doubt anybody reads what I write (as I pay nobody else this respect, given the state of the community).
