I would grab my best firearm, load up on the most necessary supplies (but not too much, for weight), and wander the open plains here in Northern Colorado.

Nowhere for zombies to hide, Plenty of stops along major routes (Interstate Highway 25) to camp / look for supplies.

store up food and ammo hold up in my house for a month if its summer because i live in texas and close to the coast the heat and humidity will rot those suckers within days the stench would be overwhelming but i live near the ship channel and a garbage dump so i mostly wont notice

if its winter i will try to escape to the north were they will freeze due to lack of body heat

Not really a "plan", just a basic idea of "grab a melee weapon, stuff a backpack full of non-perishable food and head for high ground." The real debate is wether I should take the pickax or the sword. I worry that my unskilled hands wouldn't be able to use the actual weapon very effectively whereas swinging a pick is much simpler.

Crowbar or Katana is the usual debate.

I say Both

But I don't have either of those. And carrying both will reduce the amount of food I can carry.
