I mean, at least they could have it on a new engine, but NO!

There should have been no "episodes" in the first place for HL2, and they should have all come out in the same year considering around five minutes were put into each section.

They are the perfect example of a lazy company, stop using the nasty Source engine, and get their engineers to make something that doesn't have Gamecube graphics.

I give up. I can't be pacified with TF2 updates forever. If Valve doesn't announce Episode 3, or HL3 running on a new engine soon I'm just done with them as a developer.

Actually I think they were done with Ep. 3 a long time ago, Gabe just ate it.

You wouldn't be this mad if you didn't love at least one of their games, nobody gets mad that a company is not making new things unless they like the things they make.

Left 4 Dead one was released in late 2008, that was the start of a completely new series ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO!

How often do you think completely new IP's come out of a company? Every 15 minutes?

You realize...valve is independent right? They're not being published or funded by another company. So their games comeout in larger timeframes.

I have no idea why everyone is so dead set on graphics, the games look great to me. I don't need super realistic looking graphics because it's a escape from reality. But if you need to see every hair on someones ass I guess that's your thing.

I'm unsure on this one but didn't EA have some part in the Left 4 Dead games?

Eh. I don't like Valve but even I find your complaints leviant. There are much worse companies, and by the end of HL2Ep2 I was almost convinced they'll learn how to make a proper FPS by the end of HL3.

Hmm, not a big fan of valve, prefer a good few companies over them. Still though, when they do release an original title, I play the original and never touch any of the sequals most of the time

It's called moving on, if you don't like valve, find a different company to support. (Like how I loved bullfrog, but can't stand most of the companies they branched off into.)

how about you call steam a game and stop hating on them, seriously I just bought the crysis complete pack, killing floor 2 indie bundles and the witcher for like 33 bucks. that is like 15 games at like more or less 2 bucks each, linked to an account I own and can have forevers.

They published the 360 version as they did with Orange Box. Lot of good that did for Orange Box players on 360.

lol there's plenty of other developers who are bringing out top grade games to keep you busy all the time, so getting hung up on one developer who has kinda lost the plot is a bit lame.

In my opinion, you can either go have a little sook about it, or stop being hung up on ONE developer and just carry on with life and play something else.

Try going to the Final Fantasy community and telling them that. To many gamers worldwide, Square Enix seems to be the only good company in the entire JRPG industry, and to the rest, they're the only company at all. But this thread is about Valve, and Extra Credits already explained that, so...

Yeah, no shit this thread is about Valve. I'm just adding my two cents, and my two cents is that people shouldn't get hung up on their love affair with Valve, just because they stopped returning your calls and didn't even say thank you for the roses.

Oh yeah. Portal and all that shit. I gave up caring shortly after the crap that was the sacrifce. God, that was dreadful. The console version of TF2 got murdered, Portal 2 got delayed again and even if I could remember half the story in Half Life, I doubt I'd have the PC to run Episode 3. Half life wasn't even that good, maybe at the time it was amazing, but it's aged badly in my opinion. Almost like everything these days.

The L4D series is very popular and very good.

Nearly everyone is excited for Portal 2.

The TF2 updates are free. I don't complain about free stuff.

EDIT: I care little for the Half Life games so HL3 doesn't bother me.

The engine they use doesnt matter,its what they do with it that matters.Sure,you could uuse a top-of-the-range, 2010-11 graphics engine,but its the narrative,and the the gameplay that matter.

Seriously, I never liked valve, I played TF2 and got bored after 3 months and the rest is yust boring. I didin't even compleate HL1, L4D stops being fun after you've compleated the stages not after 500 fucking times (same whith L4D2)....

Nah, All games don't get boring, I'm still playing the first fable (whith lost chapters included) and that's 5 damn years, also I played wow and what hit me whith making a game like that so "attractive" for so many years is beacose It's allways different at the same time as it's exactly like before y'know? New experience same ol'crap. Also, you don't need to enjoy communicating for making a game last longer, I hated communincating I didin't spend my time in guilds too much green text while I tryed to kill big hairy vikings, boars and stuff....
