Great movie. Now go read the comics because they are much better, and that's saying something given how awesome the movie was.

frankly, i loved it, I thought it was one of the best movies I'd seen in ages

tho I was really surprised to find that my Film/TV teacher said he hated the movie, and was bored out of his mind the whole time. Tho he did make some valid points.. Ramona (atleast facially) shows almost zero emotion the entire movie, the whole dialog from the asian girl at the very end of the film seems pretty unrealistic, some of the acting wasn't the greatest, some issue with lack of character growth,(and a few other points I forget)...
and I still love it

I think the big thing that polarizes people on whether they LOVE or HATE Scott Pilgrim is the style it's done in. if you like the style, you will love the film, if you don't like the style, you will hate the film; there is no inbetween

Yes.

It was a good movie. I don't really have anything else to say.
what? nothing about putting subliminal messages into the movie to use it to brainwash many many geeks into becoming your minions and to take over America? and then the rest of the world?

honestly Im disapointed

i couldn't watch it i thought the Scott guy was too much of a whinny ***** i saw a bit of the start and a bit of the middle and the ending and fast forwarded through the rest

dont get me wrong some of the concepts were interesting but i just couldn't handle characters actors and the whinging it gets a 4/10 from me if i had to score it

Nah, man. I like the idea behind it, but I just found it too silly to even consider a lot of it funny or even entertaining. Just like Scrubs and Big Bang Theory, a lot of humour is just really stupid. It's kinda aiming to get shock laughs like for swearing or showing up naked at an inappropriate time, it's nothing clever at all.

Some parts I did like though, especially the fight scenes, that's why I gave it an average rating.

It was absolutely excellent. Easily the second best film of 2010 after Inception. Everything Edgar Wright touches turns to gold. Only he could make Michael Cera a badass.

100/10. I left the theater... changed. I was shaking, and way more excited than I've ever been in my life. It was the best.

I blame it on being able to draw stupidly real (minus the epic fights) parallels to my drama with one particular girl. Also the sweet music and sound effects.

PS: Read the books. I think the movie is actually better at what it covers, but it leaves out SO much character development.

Edit: In fact... seeing all these SP avatars makes me realize... WHY THE HELL DON'T I HAVE ONE!

*Changing avatar so that anyone who sees this longer than 5 mins from now won't understand that I never had one*

Hahahah, yeah...that was some funny stuff. I'm ashamed to say it isnt in my collection yet. Going to remedy that when I get home.

Didnt know anything about it, sat down and enjoyed the hell out of it. Great Movie.

I would have enjoyed it a hell of a lot more if there was some substance behind Ramona's character. She's a pretty girl, but that's it. There was absolutely nothing else remotely interesting about her.
It's true, they sort of glaze over everyone buy Scott and the Ex's in the film. Like I mentioned above, WAY more character development in the books. Suggest both to be enjoyed in their own ways.

High Recommended. I got them all for less than $10 each through Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=scott+pilgrim&x=0&y=0

They are nice and colorful for display too. I know I've read them twice now, and probably will 2-4 more times after awhile.
It's also great fun (If your nerdgasming over SP as much as I have been) to read a book, then watch the movie up to the end of that point. Its anywhere from 50 mins to like, 15 of the movie, lol. But you notice where they worked in good lines in new areas that make sense for the film only.
It's interesting.

You have no idea how much I was hyped up for this film. And I got what I wanted. Twice. It had so many good one liners and...in jokes, behind the scene jokes, game reference jokes, some of the best innuendos ever. I mean, remember this line:

'Ask him how it feels to always get his sloppy seconds'. Hah! Even the stunt doubles weren't safe in this movie!

I was at an 8 out of 10 but then I got more and more of the references and jokes and it moved up to a 9/10. All was fine and well, until...my cousin brought me a blu-ray, dvd and digital copy ummm...copy (this is a big deal, I am in Romania). And then I saw it 20 more times. The only drawback is that some chars like the twins were not developed enough.

But again, then I played the game. Bottom line, best video game movie ever, some of the best OST out there, good dialogue and actions scenes, it pretty much scores in every area it counts.

Loved it, went to read the manga it was based off.

Love the manga even more.
Its not a manga its a comic book. There is a difference. Sorry to get snobby but calling the comic books 'manga' is like calling Skooby-Do an anime.
It's spelt Scooby Doo. And I'll have you know it's an animated artpiece.

[/sarcasm]
;D
Ah thanks for the spelling, the phonetic hard 'k' always throws me off, and the spell checker doesn't help. Nah, I wouldn't go with animated artpiece. It comes across as being too pretentious for a show concerning a talking dog and halloween costumes. I would define it as an 'Animated Western Cartoon'. Or perhaps an 'episodic motion drawing series'.

I am now going to spend half an hour trying to define Scooby Doo, god damnit. X3
I know, I was joking when I called it an artpiece. I'd more likely describe it as a bunch of bright, distracting colours for children :D

I loved it. I actually went out and bought the books this week too and I'm loving them just as much (and I don't usually like graphic novels like that).

Hated it. Hated the music, found the material pretentious, and was mostly bored by the whole thing.

Will never watch again.

This is pretty much how I felt about the whole thing.

I know that this person wasn't referring to SP, but it was a good choice of words to help me describe how I feel about the film.

I liked it. I had nerdgasms all over the place. When I saw it in the theater, someone actually asked in the middle of the movie why the people he defeated turned into coins. I was upset.
Something similar happened when I went to see it, all ten of my friends turned as one and gave him the most dissaproving glare in history.

OT: Yeah, I really liked it, constant Nerdgasm with extreme style, the scene where Scott is pretending not to be home had me in stitches.
