And im looking for some good games to get for it. I already have Assassins Creed and Motorstorm and im thinking of getting Resistance and Call Of Duty 4. I'm looking for something that will last me a few good months on. A nice feature would be online play with microphones. Any suggestions?

I have very little advice to give as to games, but my general advice is that most next-gen games have a playtime of something between 6-12 hours. Depending on how much playing you have, it may be difficult to get several months out of one.

That said, buy the Orange Box. It's five games in one, and the multiplayer is decent.

Also, congratulations on the new purchase. Enjoy!

I've played Resistance with a friend. It's not so great as the hype makes it. There's only one cool thing in there, window smashing looks cool.

Resistance is great, haven't played multiplayer but it's supposed to be great.
If you feel like waiting, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is due soon.
Ratchet And Clank is good.

That's all I got.

CoD4 will take care of any Multiplayer needs so you should try and go for single player games. It seems you might need to wait a while for more games to come out.

Ratchet And Clank: Tools of Destruction
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Resistance: Fall of Man
Call of Duty 4
Heavenly Sword (it's a great game, but borrow it or rent it as it's not overly long)

Rather dislike the PS3, but if there is an Armored Core title available do look for that.
Yeah, there is one out. It's pretty fun aside from the small issue of missions only lasting anywhere from 20 seconds to 3 minutes. Though it does have a lot of customization and online play which lengthens it a bit. Everything good for ps3 comes out around March though. Haze should be pretty good.

Call of duty 4 fits you perfectly. It hasn't gotten old for me yet and I burn up games pretty quick, it has online with microphones.
Oh and... It beat out Halo 3 on most played XBL games!!!! *http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=-Qae_TUTeGo*

Uncharted is a must for the PS3, I love that game and honestly it has to be one of the best games to come out last year in my opinion. Another good game to get is Ratchet & Clank, its visually beautiful and just as fun as the original games were. I've come across a few people that love Heavenly Sword but I would avoid it to be honest, its good but no where near good enough to pay $60 for it. Other than that I'd recommend Resistance, Warhawk, and Burn Out Paradise for the your new PS3. Hope you enjoy it...I know I'm enjoying mine

- Pretty good?! PRETTY GOOD??!? Haze is gonna be motherfreakin' awesome!!!11!!~!!Onesclamation!1!
It's been put back again though, til the next fiscal year (i.e. April'08 to MArch '09). Seeing as before that official redate, it was due in Apr '08 anyway, it's starting to look as if March '09 will be it. It looked intersting as a Halo 3 competitor, but it's starting to look like it'll be facing off against FarCry 2.

Thats not a bad range their, i guess i could say thanks to all of you about Heavenly Sword, because i was seriosly thinking of buying it. Also, i tried to download a Ratchet and Clank demo off PSN with a wireless conection and it took about an hour to do 5%. Is that average or do i have to use an ethernet cable? It had 90% signal strength and its speed is usually 54.0mbps on my computer.

I also found a demo disc that i got from a Playstation magazine with Resistance on it. Gotta say its really fun to play. And seriously thinking of purchesing.

I too just purchased a PS3 with Uncharted, which is good, but not great 3.5 hours in. Everyday Shooter however, is very cool and easily worth the $11 asking price.

Resistance was a very fun game for me. Its especially good if you play it on co-op (obviously). Many unique weapons.
Solid Multiplayer.

Campaign, it might get a little repetitive. AUGER FTW

Were you downloading other things with the R&C demo? PS3s only download one thing at a time, so...

Ninja Gaiden Sigma?
Virtua Fighter 5?
Heavenly Sword is a pretty awesome game. I don't regret buying it, but I *hate* renting games.

I was going to suggest R&C at the top of the list, but other guys beat me to it.

That being said, DMC4 *and* Turok come out on the 5th, so you might want to wait a few days.

I know I'm getting Warhawk and DMC4 at the same time, but I'll sit out Turok. I love dinosaurs, hate FPS, and the demo on their site was a lot more 'generic FPS' than 'DINOSAURS!' Not surprised, but am disappointed.

- Your downloads should be going faster than that. Maybe you need to fiddle around with the settings on your wireless router?
Resistance is a very good game, and well-worth the purchase. The sotry is very well done and Multiplayer is lots of fun.
