I just got screwed with my slow internet connection at work, it made me mess up the Zelda quiz. What are some of your stories where you got screwed by the internet?

I was in the middle of an epic Company of Heroes battle and my two Ostwind Flankpanzers had flanked all 4 of the guys Riflemen squads on a bridge and proceeded to block the whole bridge so he couldn't retreat. My ally was about the blow the bridge with Walking Stukkas and I was evacuating it when I accidentally kicked the power adapter for my router.<_<
Submitting a paper. It was due and the internet in the dorms decided to crap out for 7 hours. Same thing with when I was registering for classes second semester. It gave out and I was 5 minutes late to register >_< twas a nightmare.
I was in a Kara raid (my first one) in WoW and I was the main tank. We were in the dining hall with the priestess, priest, woman warlock and mage. In mid-fight my little sister decides its a good idea to open up three youtube pages and suck up all the interwebs. I lagged out, and had to deal with a lot of pissing and moaning.

Our force consisted of 8 or 9 dreads, 4 carriers and, my Leviathan (Caldari Titan) and Gallente Titan, and >200 smaller vessels. We arrive in the system and spread out looking for POSs. We after a few minutes we find one and launch an all out assault. After about a half hour or so large enemy fleet arrives that has 3 more dreads and an extra Minmatar Titan. We decied the focus all of our attacks on the titans. After an hour we've widdled their fleet down to about half strength and destroyed all but two titans with the next about to die, while barely losing any ourselves. Then suddenly the power goes out
It takes a good hour to get the power back on. I turn on my computer once again and log in. then suddenly I come out of deadspace and end up at the POS only to see all a gigantic field of wrackage and debris where we were along with 3 new dread, 4 carrier, and the wreck of teh other titan. Soo I ma jumped by a large group of cruisers, batlecruisers and battelships along with interceptors. Within seconds they have crammed 2 and a half tons of ECm up my ass and had made it impossible to escape. Os all i can do is try to take as many of tehm with as I could before I die.
I was probably down to about 20-30 vessels when they finally got me. Luckily I escaped before they got my pod.
Well I didn't get screwed really everyone else did
I was playing Halo 3 and for some reason the internet wigs out and says to everyone else that I'm about 5 feet to the left of where I was. So I get shots wizz by ear and I just strolled up and smached them.

I joined a really prestigious raiding guild in WoW (one of the world top 20) and during my trial period there were two days where my connection went to shit because of a bad line and nobody at my ISP was picking up the phone because it was a holiday weekend. I was subsequently labeled as "unreliable" by the guild even though I never experienced so much as a lag spike when it was fixed.
The Internet is a harsh mistress, when talking to women, Arguing and the like, do not use internet, it will cut out just to spite you so you can have a long long time explaning "Why you blocked her", "Why you just left" "Why you dont care and just leave" and more.

Not a gaming story. I was doing CAD work during college. In order to work from home, I had to VPN and get a license for the software (Pro/E Wildfire). I had been at it for about 5 hours with no issues. I hit ctrl+S to save my work, and that's exactly when my internet connection failed. Lost the VPN connection, so the software locked up and even after I got internet back and restored the VPN it wouldn't work. Needless to say, I was less than thrilled.
while playing Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst a friend and i were in a very long and very hard quest. about 2/3 of the way through i started getting a lot of lag and soon after lost internet connection. once a quest is started no new members can join the group so i was unable to continue the quest. a few days later we decided to try again and, this time, we got further. but then 3/4 of the way through the quest i once again lost connection.i have also lost connection when rare weapons and enemies dhow up. so much for the BT Home Hub having the best wireless connection!
Well, considering my internet is only better than dial up, it screws me over on a daily basis.
From games to websites, and everything in between. Sometimes I would write a lengthy post on this website, but when I hit post, I get an error message and have to re-type the whole thing.
And on games, I haven't had a lag-free game in over a year.
And my internet likes to die every so often, screwing up whatever I'm doing.
Thats always fun.
