I still love playing Team Fortress 2, but I do it very casually.

I only have a fraction of the hours you've put in, but I tend to sit down and play the game for twenty minutes or half an hour, sometimes as much as an hour, then walk away. I find it great fun to sit down and just play for a few minutes since unlike many other games I play there is little build up or very long rounds.

The only frustrations I have with the game really are from the few amounts of maps (being released with so few maps, and only one Capture the Flag map was almost criminal) and some annoyance with Critical Hits (soldiers spamming Rockets and getting a Critical Rocket that one hit kills multiple players ever tenth rocket is kind of annoying). Instant Respawn servers are also pretty annoying, but they can be avoided, at least.

If your so tired of TF2 then head on back to TFC and sharpen your old skills. TF2 is fun but I still think TFC is just as much fun if not more. Try to learn some of the things you put off back in the day. bunny hopping or trying all the conic maps. Can always try one of the Neo TFC servers. makes the whole game play something different. everyone has tricks to use. makes the game play less like a routine than with the normal mod. Im suprised at how many people who play TF2 have no idea that TFC exists. Its sad really. I mean come on where do you think they got the 2 from people? silly silly. ^_^

TFC is more fun because of all the community driven content. I loved a good capture the flag in the old days but put me in a rocket/conc jump map and I could be entertained for hours.

Personally I can't get into TF2 because it just feels so boring. I need a game with a bit more dimension (though that isn't reflected in the fact that I'm playing CoD4, even though I'm about fed up with it after 30 hours of online play). I miss the days when Battlefield 1942 because that was a game with dimension. I loved BF2 too but I didn't have a computer that could handle it until recently and now I'm just not interested in playing catch-up.

I felt like this after playing Call of Duty 4 for 2 days almost straight, I couldn't stand the game anymore, but didn't play it for a couple of weeks and enjoyed it when I went back

Everything in moderation.
That might literally be the issue. I haven't written off the possibility of going back to it later, but it may have been too much. I really enjoyed it, I really did.
Exactly. Take a break. Untill next grand update, maybe.

I believe this is what i call taking a break you move on for a bit and then play it again later once you crave it again like a crack fiend. I do it with like 4 games one of them an MMO.

You'll be back. And you. Aaaaaand YOU, STEVE!!!

Seriously, TF2 has something in it you can't resist. I "left" it few times and always came back.

Although many of the Team Fortress 2 players don't realise "Team" is in the title, Either.

It's even capitalised!

But some good points have been raised. get out, experience other games.
In the end, the Sandvich will get you.

The official maps got dull after a month. But with a constant stream of custom maps has kept me going for over a year without any break bigger then a week.
