I used to bite my controllers. Seriously. I would get so flaming mad that I would literally bite the controller to keep from screaming. I still have several with teeth marks in them.

Now I just turn the game off and cool down a while.

I've occasionally thrown my controller but more often than not I hit my sofa or the nearest cushion. Usually happens when I play a game I know I'm good at but, for whatever reason, I'm being hopelessly pants on at that moment in time.

Gears of War multiplayer brings out the worst in me. I swear like a trooper whenever I play it. I have never done more than throw my controller down onto the seat though, I am still conscientious of not breaking stuff I paid money for.

I broke my TV because I hit it with a PS3 controller out of rage about a year ago. Biggest mistake I've ever made. Haven't raged since. (I do get frustrated and swear, but that's as far as I get now)

I'd say I learnt the lesson.

Edit: And yes, I had to buy a new TV. Better resolution so, I guess that's a plus.

Battletoads for NES was the most rage inducing game ever when I was younger. My god I'm surprised I never planted the controller firmly into the television screen.

I don't usually risk breaking expensive stuff, but whatever floats your boat. Punching a wall, or a pillow if I'm feeling self-indulgent, usually drives down the tension. But I don't recall ever getting really angry about a game, unless you count the fact that my Xbox has a very temperamental disc-drive which occasionally delights me by choking up in the middle of a perfect Mirror's Edge speedrun.

But I rage a lot in TF2 because of my shitty Internet connection. Get perfect backstab, lag for ten seconds, see the inevitable "lol u died" screen.

I stopped abusing my controllers since they are an expensive thing, and I felt like an idiot every time I had to go buy a new one. I think the last time I broke my controller was playing Bayonetta and I had to fight against Jeanne for the last time, I almost had her when I blinked and got myself murdered at a cheap shot.

Now I just swear creatively and yell really loud, sometimes I will walk away for a bit to calm down.

Gone through 3 ps2 controllers and 2 360 controllers thanks to my floor and frustrating games.. I think both 360 ones were due to fifa and i remember one of the PS2 controllers was due to the last level in Psi Ops with those bullshit mines.

Last game that sent me into TEH RAEG was Dwarf Fortress. I suppose that's why the motto is "losing is fun". If you actually attempt or expect to be able to accomplish anything with your pantheon to retard-worshippers (meaning, your dwarves), you will quickly go insane.

So many examples, but I can't go back there, or the insanity will claim me again.

Man, worse than I thought. I think my heart rate rose a little remembering some of the shit I've seen DF dwarves get up to.

way back in the day, on the SNES many a night was spent with cans of soda, and blood shoot eyes trying to guide Mario to that damnable flagpole, and dieing inch in front of the thing because of a koopa or falling into a bit just before i get to the staircase,

needless to say Nintendo made some sturdy controllers(still do considering all the wii controller/wristband accidents)

One time at like 2 in the morning my two friends and I were playing CoD 4. One of my friends got pissed and threw his PS3 controller at the ground, which shattered most of the controller. We couldn't stop laughing.

He ended up still playing by pressing the pads the buttons touch.

I don't throw my controller. Instead, I flip my controller into the air and catch it. Still relieves stress, doesn't cost me 50$.

I play sitting on my bed, so it's easy to punch a pillow or throw yourself (or the controller) on it, but I find that shouting expletives at the game and your opponents is the best way to deal with this particular problem.

Also, Pokémon. I broke my 1st DS because of Pokémon Diamond and it's fucking annoying gym fights.

I usually start cursing everything, and grasp the controller VERY hard. I haven't thrown it though, but I came close.

Trying to unlock Okuni in Samurai Warriors 2 is frustrating as hell. You have to play a long and boring side game that often ends in you losing just barely. Its so frustrating when you are one turn away from victory and an opponent lands on a Shrine space that screws you over letting someone else win...
