So how many of us have found ourselves in this situation:
You wanna play a game that you know you have, but haven't played in a long time. And when you go to it's case or where you left it, it's suddenly not there. You look far and wide for it, but it's just nowhere to be seen. Then, a bit after you give up it suddenly just turns up out of nowhere.

So my fellow members, what games have you lost only to find later on? Or did you ever find them at all?

For me a more recent case would be that my Pokemon White version has gone missing, and it was close to the time in which the Pokemon Bank is gonna open. The bad part for me is that all my Pokemon, all the way from my first copy if Ruby, are in that cartridge and I can't find it anywhere, despite me seeing it a few days ago. What's even worse is that I have a lot of legitimate event Pokemon on that cartridge as well: the event Mew from Toys R Us back in 2004, the Jirachi from Colosseum, the event Deoxys, the Shiny Creation Trio, the Shiny Dog Trio, the 10th anniversary Celebi, and the event Victini. Now I can easily replace most of the Pokemon, since I still have my Sapphire cartridge along with my Platinum, but the event Pokemon I can't get back. T^T

Not sure if my case counts, but it does happen pretty much every time I come home for a break. There were two Xbox 360s in my house, one of which belonged to me and one belonged to two of my brothers. Thing is, when I went on break, my two brothers would take some of my games down and play them on their 360, which is particularly annoying on some of my favorite games considering they do not have a clue how to handle discs, and they are often scratched and/or lined with fingerprints and smudges. Generally, I'm left hunting the game down, making sure they are in the right cases (oh yeah, they don't know how to put it back in the right case either!), and then pray to God that it works fine.

Granted, this shouldn't happen anymore since they just sold the 360 to buy an Xbox One.

I'm way too obsessive with organizing all of my things for this to ever happen to me. Both of my sisters put DVDs in the wrong cases or just leave them around the place etc and it drives me absolutely insane, to the point where I refuse to lend them anything anymore.

I'm pretty much the same way with my media as SlaveNumber23. I'm all about the organization.

The only time to the best of my recollection where I lost a game was back a few years ago while I was at college. During summer break I searched everywhere for my X-Box 360 copy of Earth Defense Force 2017 (shut up, it's awesome) but couldn't find it. Summer break went by, and I still hadn't found it.

About a month or so into the new school year we break out my roommate's X-Box 360 because mine had started to Red Ring, and it turned out that my copy of EDF2017 had spent the entire summer in his console. We'd both forgotten about it after the last time we played.

Throw me into the "really organized" bucket. I usually know where everything is; or at least what box it's in.

Since I have almost all of my games on Steam, GOG, or this one little shelf, I rarely have this issue. However, I recently discovered that I had somehow misplaced my physical copy of Freelancer, and have been as of yet unable to find it. This sucks, because every time Star Citizen is featured in an article (so, a lot), it makes me want to boot up Freelancer again even more.

I lost a gameboy game of Crash Bandicoot for about year once. Finally found it in a backpack I know I had checked before. Confused the hell out of me.

Both my wife and I have our own copies of GTA Chinatown Wars. Between having 2 of them and the games being on those tiny cards, I feel for you.

Most everything I own if its not visibly on display or in a cabinet, its definitely in a box where I know (or more importantly the wife knows since she put it there) where it lay.
We hardly lose anything of value unless we forget to put it back after use and it gets shoved in a drawer. Well all our charge cables are separated by size or function (what it goes to) in ziploc bags with labels.

Normally obsessive as hell about disks in the right box, but a couple of my special/limited edition games came in boxes too big to go on my gaming shelf so I put them in other cases.

Que five hours going through everything I own to find them again later!

I did lose my copy of Link's Awakening DX for a few yeas. I was considering buying a new one online, but it finally turned up which was pretty awesome. Other than that, if it is something I care about, I make sure to know where it is.

Thing is, I do make sure that I know where it is. I think some people in this thread are thinking that I just leave my games laying around, when in fact I make sure to return them to their case. It's why I can't understand where my Pokemon White went, since I did return it to it's case.

I usually have everything in its proper stack in alphabetical order for convenience. I've never lost a game.

I did lose my GameBoy once though. It had dropped behind my bed, which was tough to do as it's the old refridgerator model with the huge bulky battery pack. :D

Surprisingly, video games (alongside mangas and DVDs/Blu-Rays) are one of the few things I actually strive to keep organized...

HOWEVER, I have learned that one of my friends that lives close by to me (we'll call him "Bob" right now) has a nasty habit of misplacing any video game that he would borrow from me... and sometimes would place game disk in different cases, usually while both knowing and unknowingly remembering he did that... He did it with my Rayman Origins copy as well as my Simpsons Hit and Run copy (which he almost lost due to "constant neglect"), with the worse part of it is that HE DIDN'T FINISH PLAYING EITHER OF THEM!!!

(I'm probably more upset he still hadn't figure out just how awesome Rayman Origins is as a platformer... and he loves platformers more than me, mind you...)

Now, for me, I mostly remember loosing like the instruction booklet to Chain of Memories on the GBA, only to find it alongside my Pokemon Emerald instruction booklet... And now I remember letting someone borrow my copy of Emerald and they never gave it back to me and told me they "lost it"... (I still call BS on that...)

I lost Pokemon Soulsilver, and the part that really tares me up about it is I CAUGHT THEM ALL RRRAAAUUUGGGHHH!!!! That's the only recent game I lost.

An older one I lost and recently found was the second disc to The Curse of Monkey Island. I had the first disc and somehow the second one ended up with my dad's collection.

I've only ever found Gameboy games that I didn't really like, but I'm not sure if I counts because I never went looking for them.
Most of my games are next to the console they belong to or close by. I only have one (physical) game for my Xbox One and the case is right next to it now. My PS3 games are in my sister's room, while the console is next to my Xbox One. Reason I don't have them nearby is because I haven't even plugged the PS3 into the wall or my monitor yet. However, I'd be surprised to find any disc in the case from her, let alone the right disc. Hell, I'd be surprised the find the goddamn case.

The second army of two game, which I love and had 100% on, went missing for about a year, until I found it in this little cardboard disc holder thing a friend let me have because the disc had some game on it he thought I'd like.
The worst part? A few weeks after while playing co-op my game froze and when I booted it up again my saves were gone. Still haven't beaten it again.

when I was young, I lost my PSP, which meant no more Monster Hunter during long car rides. I was heartbroken. Years later, during Hurricane Sandy in the Northeast US, when my house had lost power, I found in amidst a bunch of junk in my basement. A lifesaver in that case, since the hardest thing about the two weeks without power after the initial clean up was fighting off boredom when I can't drive anywhere and the TV doesn't work

Well if you can't find it by the time the bank comes out let me know if I can help you get some Pokemon you might really want in X and Y. I have at least one of each on my gen 5 carts I believe.

I can't really get those two again I think since the event Mews are gone and all I can hope for is that there will be an event for Mew this gen.
