Years ago the household desktop had a slidey disk mouth rather than a nice drawer. for several weeks my game disks were going missing to my confusion and concern. I eventually figured that I had been missing the drive and sliding them between it and the case. After removing the drive I found a treasure trove of lost games.

Used to happen a lot when I was younger, mostly because a friend of mine I'd let borrow games and I'd forget which ones he borrowed. He was always good about taking care of them and giving them back, but I just could never remember WHICH games he had borrowed.

I've also misplaced games. I lost my entire 8 Game Case with all my PSP games once, and have yet to recover it, I strongly suspect it was stolen, but not quite sure how.

The most recent was about 2 years ago I've misplaced my GOTY copy of Oblivion, I still have the collector's edition, and DLC but I don't have Knights of the Nine or Shivering Isles :(

Um...no?

I used to, when I was a kid, but as I've gotten older I've become a LOT more organized.

Once upon a time when digging through my SNES cartridges many years ago. But I'm otherwise organized as fuck. Blame the SNES malarkey on my parents, they never do the right thing when it comes stashing/ditching old stuff.

Hell no. I used to leave discs laying around upside down up until the late 90s but since 2000 I've gotten extremely obsessive over discs, their cases, their inserts and how to handle them. Nobody else is allowed to touch the shelves. There are even some games and other related things on that shelf that I wont touch unless I've recently washed my hands.

Never. I make it a point to know exactly where each and every single one of my games are at, at any given point in time. I have a friend who'll reach for a game they want to play, and place the game that was in the system, into the case of the game they want to play, because lol convenience. And it infuriates me to no end when he does it with my games.

I think the big one was no idea where the heck my original copy of ff7 went to. I had to buy another one GH when it was 20 bucks, wish I bought a couple more ;p.
