On another note: Demon's Souls actually isn't as terribly difficult as everyone portrays it to be.
No, but it is infuriating. Especially after getting to the final boss, dying, then having half hp, then dying again, losing all 5762 of the souls you had.

It turns into busy work, and the second it becomes busy work, it ceases to be a game. Maybe if there was some sort of... tutorial that didn't blow ass, perhaps it would be better. Also, the lack of a good story made me not really care.

I thought the ending to Fallout 3, Pre-Broken Steel was one of the best endings to an RPG.

I thought Dragon Age 2 was allright.

Fable 3 is not bad either. Nor is Fable 2.
I never played Broken steel, but I would like to understand why you think the ending of FO3 is good.

I did sort of like DA2 as well. The only thing I really didn't like was the waves of enemies and the repetitive environments.

I barely remember playing Fable 2, but from what I do recall it was ok. Fable 3, on the other hand, was barely mediocre. It felt like no effort was put into making the game any better than the previous versions, and in fact had regressed quite a bit.

Also, I don't know if anyone think's otherwise, but ALL of FROM Software's Armored Core games have THE WORST controls I have ever used in my life. I don't know how people even play the games. I somehow managed AC2, but I tried AC: Silent whatever and AC4. Nearly killed myself after attempting AC4 because the control were so god-awful I lost faith in Mech games entirely for a few moments. Then I played Trenched.

Well, I better throw up the old spoiler warning

*Ahem*
The ending where you give your life to save the wasteland made sense, at least in my play style.

I was playing the Lone Wanderer as some sort of messiah. I always obeyed rules, and did whatever I could to protect the innocent. I slaughtered all slavers in Paradise Falls, mowed down all super mutants I could find, and slew raiders like it was going out of style.

My character risked their life day in and day out to save the less fortunate. So, as I figured, a super good character would be willing to give their life for the greater good.

It worked well for me, so I didn?t see what the issue was. You can still say ?Eff-Dat? and have Sarah do it for you.

I admit, the whole ?game ends? thing is a little annoying, if you?ve perfected your character, but I can kinda see where they were coming from.

I think making TF2 free was a good idea
I think the Wii had a half decent line up of games
I found Assasins creed boring (Had Beautiful scenery though)
I am not angry at Capcom for canceling MML3 (the whole devroom thing was a terrible idea, and I get the impression that the game was being sloppily made)
I genuinely enjoyed Hamtaro: Ham Ham adventures for gamebody colour.
I do not regret buying a 3DS
PS3 was always better than the 360
I prefer games that don't have a story line (thats what movies books and tv are for)
FF 12 was the best final fantasy game

Hmm, I guess that turn-based combat is for female genital organs. That I don't believe, and quite the contrary, I claim that it's not. It's a strategic way of combat, where you must assess every possibility, before you engage in combat. Sort of like chess, there's no (or barely any) luck factor. And since chess is my one-and-only favourite sport, I guess I have a special to, say, Heroes of M&M III.

On a side note, this is somewhat like a confession room. All of us hardcore stereotypical gamers get to admit we aren't actually that harcore, or stereotypcal, or gamer, for that matter. Sort of like in a church. Only without the blind screens and the child molestation.

I liked Metroid Other M and I honestly didn't see the "Horrible character derailment" that so many seem to get so worked up about. Hyperbole probably prevented a lot of people from playing this game.

At the time of that post, I had a review copy. Didn't like it at all.

I don't love you anymore.

Wind Waker was better than any other Zelda. Except the Minish Cap. That game was devine.

Plants Vs. Zombies is the best hardcore-gamer title I have ever played.
But we both have a love for Wind Waker! Don't hate me for stating facts!

First person shooters are the equivalent of Jersey Shore. I just... Refuse to touch them.
I actually really enjoy casual games, but I get too into them. My friends jokingly call me a hardcore casual gamer...

Actually all of these, and I'll even go so far to say that Dragon Age 2 is one of my favorite games for some reason.

OT:
1: I hate all anime styled games, especially Final Fantasy. You don't have to agree but I just can't stand them.

2: I think Sims can be pretty fun.

3: I like Xbox, get over it.

4: I think Star Trek Online is one of the best MMOs on the market.

BC2's multiplayer sucks.
Every CoD game since MW1 has had terrible multiplayer.
FF13 wasn't that bad.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s bugs aren't actually THAT bad, even if you can find any.

Dead Space isn't actually scary, just startling.

Most JRP's are INCREDIBLY BORING.
I think the STALKER thing is more or less around release dates. Because I picked up Shadow of Chernobyl recently and it wasn't as much buggy as just plain unforgiving.

Master Chief is a faaaaar better protagonist then Gordon Freeman. I am prepared to explain why.
I'm taking a neutral stance here, but I'd like to read your reasoning :)
Alrighty, here goes. Wall of text incoming, sorry.

EDIT:OH! And SPOILERS FOR THE HALF LIFE SERIES!!!! LIKE, THE WHOLE THING!!!

OK, so...First of all, the premise that Gordon Freeman is any different from Master Chief to begin with. People say he's just a physicist with a crowbar, but that isn't true. He's a physicist with a crowbar and power suit. That heals his injuries, gives him amazing athletic abilities, and absorbs damage. EXACTLY like Master Chief. He's also a symbol of hope to a downtrodden civilization, like Master Chief, except in Freeman's case that makes no fucking sense. The Chief is connected with the military, so it makes sense that people have heard of him. There's probably propaganda ads featuring him on Earth. Plus, he's actually saving humanity. (Keep in mind, in this next bit, how Freeman is supposed to be "defined by the players actions) Freeman, however, is a physicist working a top secret facility, part of only a small handful of people who got out alive. How did people hear about him in the gap between HL1 and 2?

Maybe you say the few surviving Black Mesa employees spread the word. Word became legend, etc, etc. That would almost make sense, except for one thing: Freeman has never done anything WORTHY of humanities' collective admiration. Think about it: In HL1, all he does is open the door for an apocalyptic alien invasion, spectacularly fail to stop it, and then disappear for 20 years. Our hero, everybody! But that's not all! His legacy of destruction and failure continues into HL2, where he manages to lead the Combine through the Resistance's escape route, which probably took YEARS to set up, and then leads them right to the nearest resistance base. This results in the capture of one the Resistance's most important figures. In the process of rescuing him, he manages to disappear AGAIN, though only for a week this time. While he's gone the revolution starts without him, and, to his credit he puts up a good fight once he gets there.

But then. He gets all the way to the top of the Citadel and undoes ALL of it. Our brilliant physicist starts banging shit together, without regards for anyone's saftey, resulting in the destruction of the Citadel, and indeed, City 17. Now, I know what you're thinking: "The Combine did that so they could set off their portal!" No. No they didn't. They just didn't stop the process once it had already begun. But I digress.

The destruction of the Citadel does far more damage to the people of Earth then to the Combine. Millions are left dead or displaced, the journey to the nearest Resistance base is much longer then before (thanks to Freeman, you'll remember) and even if the millions of refugees get to Resistance bases, the bases will be poorly equipped to handle such a huge increase in population so fast. Virtually no one benefits from the destruction of the Citadel.

In conclusion: If Freeman really is defined by his actions, then he's a moron who has no idea what the hell he's doing. Both he and Master Chief are power-armored Messiah figures of the future, virtually devoid of personality, but at least Master Chief got around to saving humanity at some point.

Annnnd....I'm done. Sorry if any of this is unclear, I'm typing it up at about 1 in the morning. If you want me to clarify anything, just ask and I'll try.
You deserve a medal for this, couldn't agree more.

Here's the thing, I WANTED to love New Vegas, hell my first quick play-through was AWESOME. But after that bug after bug after crash after bug. I wanted me and New Vegas to get along but it seemed like it was kicking me in the shin every time I started to have fun.

I see. I didn't like the fact that at the end, you had a supermutant, who was radiation immune, with you. I thought of it as "why should I die when there is someone who can do the job and NOT die right next to me?" I just thought of that as a massive hole made by writers who were strapped for time. Although, I guess if you've saved all you can save, dying doesn't really matter.

I really think the Assassin's Creed games has ran its course since AssCred 2. Unless they have something groundbreaking in the long awaited AssCred 3 instead of "The Further Adventures of Awesome Guy Ezio Auditore" that the spin-offs seemed to be enforcing, I'll be banking my money on Sucker Punch (the game developer, not the movie), thank you very much.

Agreed. I own several Shin Megami Tenseis. I don't own any Final Fantasies and I'm fine with that.

As for my own opinions, Mario is not all he's cracked up to be. I hate most of his games.
Legend of Zelda games are a bit overrated too (I like them, but I don't hold them in that high regard)
I think MMO games, of all types, are boring and a bit cluttered. I do like playing on my own, thanks. Yes, I might be a bit antisocial, but I'd rather be sitting next to the person playing with me
That being said, Minecraft doesn't interest me and I think WoW is a laugh
FPS are not really that fantastic

I think there might be more, but that's all I can really come up with
