Throughout my gaming history, there have been several games where after hearing about them, I've had an intense almost withdrawal-symptom like craving where I MUST HAVE THIS GAME NOW!

After watching the trailers for Portal 2, this game has now been added to that list.

I need my GLaDOS fix!

From now until the time it's released will seem like an eternity of impatience, and one vital question remains to be answered:

Should I get the PS3 version or the PC one?

If you have a PC that can run it at max settings, the PC.
It has superior hardware.

Why would you not get the PS3 version? Doesn't it come with a code for the PC version?

More expensive and inferior! There are bound to be tons of free mods and add-ons for the PC version which the PS3 will not have.

OP: Always go with the PC version if you have the hardware necessary to make it look as good/better than the PS3 version. Basically a GTX 460 or HD 5770 or better.
Did you even read what you quoted?

can't speak on mods but I believe valve announced that all platforms, even the 360, will be getting any addon levels created since i believe they are making a dedicated level editor this time around for the game.

As has been said, PS3, provided you have a PSN account. Which I'm pretty sure everyone with a PS3 does.

You get both versions that way - why on Earth wouldn't you?

Yes. Why waste $10?
Because then you get the PS3 version AND the PC version?
I really think you're just covering your tracks here... "More expensive and inferior" to get both versions? Nah, you just didn't read.

Same with my Crysis 2 thread... you maaay want to go back and lol.

Add-ons, maybe. Mods, no way.
But evne if you dont get the mods wouldnt having 2 copies of the game be awesome? the real question is, can you co-op with yourself, one person on ps3 one person on the pc version

If the PS3 version comes with the PC version..........

Seems like an obvious choice: XBO- No the ps3 version. Untill a few months afterward, not even steam sales will have 2 copies for 30$.

I know how you feel man, I know how you feel...

OT: Taking into account that you wouldn't care if you spent +$10 dollars on the game, I would say the PS3 version. Not only will you know that the game will work on your system, you also get the PC version for free.

Wait, the PS3 version of Portal 2 is bundled with the PC version of Portal 2 as well?

I thought it was just the PC version of Portal 1.

Yes. Why waste $10? Or, make it $15, given that Steam has the pre-order for $45 for the PC version right now.
Because with both the PC and PS3 versions you can use the cross-platform multiplayer locally.
Realatively weak excuse but it beats splitscreen.

I'm not sure with having the same account and all, but if this is true, it'd easily be the defining reason to get for Ps3

Because you could after activating your PC version you could then sell your PS3 version and come away with profit.

There are virtually NO downsides to getting the PS3 version.
