Realatively weak excuse but it beats splitscreen.
I'm not sure with having the same account and all, but if this is true, it'd easily be the defining reason to get for Ps3
I assume cross-platform with yourself will work until i experience it not working.

That said another reason is probably because its going to take me about 2 hours to download the game where it takes me little less than one hour to get it from the shops.

More expensive and inferior! There are bound to be tons of free mods and add-ons for the PC version which the PS3 will not have.

OP: Always go with the PC version if you have the hardware necessary to make it look as good/better than the PS3 version. Basically a GTX 460 or HD 5770 or better.
Did you even read what you quoted?
Yes. Why waste $10? Or, make it $15, given that Steam has the pre-order for $45 for the PC version right now.

Well guys, if you plan on shopping at Wal-mart any time soon, I've found this little gem you can order online with free shipping:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/16217820?reloadId=6#

The PC version doesn't come with this offer, but if you pre-order the 360 (haha) or the PS3 version, you can get a 20 dollar gift card, which, if you intended to shop at Wal-mart anyways, translates to a 35-dollar pre-order copy of Portal 2, with an added PC version if you link your PSN with your Steam account.

Delicious.

I pre-ordered the bundle off steam and shared it with a friend, no shipping required and was something like $40. Without having to use a gift card which are rather annoying and it requires shopping at Wal-mart

Yeah, I'm aware of that deal.

Just saying if you want to save 5 dollars AND get the PS3 version and, of course, if you shop at Walmart anyways, this is as cheap as a AAA title on release day is ever going to get.

The Orange Box would say otherwise :D

Nyeh. I have a bigass gaming rig as well, and I definitely intend to play Portal 2 on the PC.

Still though, I have a PS3 handy for those exclusives that it has always saddened me that the PC didn't have, like Heavy Rain and Valkyria Chronicles.

360 is still a joke though. No doubt about that.

On another note, I think it's absolutely amazing that Valve is offering us a chance for cross-platform compatibility. Not only can you play multiplayer between PCs and PS3s, but you can download a copy of the game in both with a single purchase? Holy shit that's generous.

Wait wait wait, you can play locally if you have a PC and PS3 copy of the game? This might just be a first considering how competitive platforms can be.

I don't know about local, but they can definitely play multiplayer with each other now.

That's very interesting...I wonder how Valve got Sony to let that go through. This could be a very good thing for the future of games if they actually let some cross platform gaming happen.

I personally am just gonna wait and see what happens with each, since the PC version will probably get more stuff but I prefer Xbox controls and that way I can coop with my sister. Not sure if this helps, though, because of your immediacy.

But sure as hell that it isnt inferior, how can something that is the same plus more can be inferior to the other thing?

With the PS3 you can play co-op with friends that dont have a gaming PC.

Throughout my gaming history, there have been several games where after hearing about them, I've had an intense almost withdrawal-symptom like craving where I MUST HAVE THIS GAME NOW!

After watching the trailers for Portal 2, this game has now been added to that list.

I need my GLaDOS fix!

From now until the time it's released will seem like an eternity of impatience, and one vital question remains to be answered:

Should I get the PS3 version or the PC one?
dude, get the ps3 version! from my understanding, every PS3 copy comes with a PC copy for free!!!

Eh, Portal was boring after I realized none of the challenges were challenging, and nothing exciting happened. That and it was short. It was funny, but I mean, people act like it was the only thing to ever be humorous in existence.

I'm much more excited for Dungeon Siege 3, Skyrim and Duke Nukem Forever.

I'll wait until Portal 2 costs 14.99-19.99 then I'll buy it for the Xbox.

Get the PS3 version because it comes with a PC version as well.

Why so? I haven't enjoyed a FF since Tactics and I hate MMOs so I'm unaware of anything on this

well with MMO's there is a lot of key mapping involved to preform actions, the issue was that people playing on the 360 and pS2 had a disadvantage where they were stuck to only using the controller... and there is also a lot of communication involved, there was just no way you could communicate in text very efficiently with a controller

PS3 + $20 Amazon version is $55 (so $35 if you shop at Amazon regularly)

If you own a PS3 and you purchase the PC/Mac version you're a moron.

it would be idoitic to not get it on the PC. it'll be cheaper and any dlc content would be free or super cheap.
